I didn't see the video, but you get my point. White is getting slammed for not being a good coach. I agree that the childish crap is inappropriate.

 

They are an at large ONLY because the committee wants more than 3 ACC teams.

Their NET is not tourny worthy.
Their Q 3 and 4 losses are terrible.
They got swept by a pretty down FSU team and got steam rolled by 30 vs Alabama.

They are likely the 9thbor 10th team in the SEC based on any true metric.

The ACC was a borderline mid major conference this season. But they have the clout to get selections and Miami will get in ONLY based on that.

They are not better than us. There is zero to base that on.

 

The vid has been pulled down twice now.

I’m good with this kind of criticism. It’s based off sound analysis of data, and a reasonable conclusion was met. We may disagree on exactly how mediocre we are, or how good we can be in the future under Coach White, but I don’t disagree on the merits of your argument.

 

People have different tastes and thoughts on what is or is not juvenile. Personally, I found it creative and funny, even as a die hard gator fan. The “dope” part is a little much. Probably couldn’t find another word that rhymes I guess. And he (white) isn’t lazy (another line in the song) But parody doesn’t have to be 100% truth. It often isn’t.

 

I’m posting a tweet that was meant to be humorous. I didn’t call him anything.

 

We have standards here and one is that Gator Country doesn't allow any insults to players or coaches.

We can't have a "parody" exception because then every insult would be combined with, "I'm just kidding but . . ."

One of GatorGrowl's rules is that you can't post a video that uses language or says things not allowed by itself. Such as a video that uses the f-word.

 

Can you prove this?

Ok, neither is ours...their NET ranking doesn't indicate whether they are a better team or not. Its not like were 20 spots ahead of them, its like 5 spots in the NET and 6 in the Ken Pom. Hardly enough to make you be like "This team at 55 is hands down better than the other at 61".

Their worst losses aren't even in the same stratosphere as losing to Ole Miss by 16 and Tx Southern at home by 15.

I know what you're going to say --

1) We played a much tougher schedule -- ok. We played 14 games vs teams on the bubble or better, we were 2-12. Miami played 10 and were 4-6...an 11th is scheduled for tonight. Advantage Miami.

2)Well we beat FSU. Yeah, we did.

We also beat Auburn, does that mean we are better than Loyola Chicago or Murray State?

Are we better than Seton Hall, Duke, Wisconsin, Illinois and Michigan State because Ohio State beat them?

This is conjecture.

This is also conjecture. ACC was down, sure. But let us see how they perform in March.

There is actually more evidence that would infer they are the better team than the other way around.

I'm going to go with the team that is an at large tourney bid, finished top 4 in a power 5 conference, they won big games when they needed too, and are playing in their conference tourney semifinals.

Anyway, Go Gators. It really sucks when our rivals have better years than we do.

i hear ya. (I didn’t post the video btw. I have seen it on half a dozen boards and had it texted to me about as many times). Many things can be funny to many different people and much of it may not be suitable for whatever audience or platform.

 

Not according to Pomeroy ratings and I trust them. Following them I have won a lot of NCAA tournament pools.

You might be fooled because they are decent in the ACC, but the ACC sucks this season.

Slander is oral and libel is written. I think that what we are talking about here is libel.

There was a pretty good pool of high school Basketball talent in the 80’s….most of it went out of state. Derek Harper was one of those.
