Is he being released? Sounds like he wants to keep at it, but thinks he will not be given that opportunity at Kstate.
Imagine winning your conference once in a while. Dude has fallen off though. Was winning 20+ game for three seasons and then went 11-21, 9-20, and then 14-17.
Apparently Webber resigned today. Given his comments in the interview, I suspect he was given the opportunity to resign.
Weber has long been tabbed as one of the nicest people in the business. Too bad the people running things have allowed safe spaces for the crooks so there is no longer a place for people who do it the right way. He is playing against a stacked deck.
Bruce Weber was successful at Southern Illinois (don't laugh. They were great when Walt Frazier played there and had a lot of success with Jack Hartman as head coach who went on to Kansas State and did very well). Five seasons at SIU with two NCAA bids and one Sweet Sixteen. Then took over after Self left Illinois to go to Kansas. First year was a Sweet Sixteen and the next year was a National Runner-up. Bill Self made an Elite Eight, Sweet Sixteen, and a second round loss in order for his only three seasons at Illinois. <sarcasm>Not a good trend line.</sarcasm> Very good coach, but not what UF needs. If we were in the same situation with cheating and Sloane I would say that we would be grateful to get such a good coach from K State like we did with Kruger.
