Nevermind . . . obviously Brent didn't get out. Not saying it's your fault, but . . . . it's your fault! Edit: We back, baby! O/T Double Edit:
To be fair, it was definitely a foul. If we were on the other side of that, and it wasn't called we would be livid.
was it? I didn’t get benefit of replay. It looked like two players collide. I don’t understand how the closet official got overturned. Adams didn’t blow his whistle???!!
Yes, it was a foul. But less of a foul than what CC was subjected to many times going up for rebounds and no calls were made. Just a case of an official interjecting himself into the outcome of a game.
Murphree made a good argument that because Fleming was going for the ball and it was a bad pass that was likely sailing OOB it should have been a no call. But I think the body contact was too much and the guy maybe could have stayed in bounds. I do agree in the sense of how them overturning that was pretty....weird.
Like I posted in the Game Thread, there were a LOT of fouls on TAMU players such as shoving Castleton around all game and pushing for rebounds and even grabbing one of our player's leg so he couldn't get to a loose ball, not to mention reaching and slapping the arms of our ball handlers resulting in turnovers and I don't recall any of them being "reviewed" and called after the fact. When the only one was a game changing call late you bet Gator fans are howling.
You're right. I agree 100%. That's why refs aren't supposed to inject themselves in a pretty blatant attempt to change the outcome of the game by creating a call that wasn't called on the floor. Edit: I wasn't criticizing you or your post. What I meant was refs are supposed to call an impartial game knowing some things will be missed and they even out.
Man it's going to be so nice having a new coach next year, although the current coach didn't recruit very well and didn't leave much talent behind (since this current class will ask out of their intent). Worth it though.
At least from a TV perspective, thought the Gator crowd came off pretty well for a noon game on a Thursday.
There was also a very ticky-tack foul on duruji 30 feet from the hoop. The refs really over inserted.
No worries, I didn't think you were. I just found it an unfortunate call that (trying to be objective) is hard to be mad at it going either way.
