Castleton Sick-Duruji and Felder limited

Castleton needs to play if we want a chance at making the NCAAT.

 

Lane and Gatkek at the 4/5 position. Tough way to win a game. Then it would be about hitting 3s. But then of course aTm would know that.

 

Yet somewhere a couple posters are probably secretly happy because this will hurt White's chances at a run.

Before you say that's crazy, some were not even secret about it in Mullen's case

 

Count me in that group. I DGAF anyone thinks. I'm tired of White, tired of mediocrity and barely scraping together enough to MAYBE get in the tourny.

Because next year, White and White apologists, and Steve Russell can point to this and say "Hey, we could've had a deep run! If only Castleton and Duruji would've been healthy for the tournament! Just wait until next year....." Where we will subsequently go 19-13, lose to Prairie View A&M, beat a top 10 team late in the year and be a bubble team.

 

Under Coach White, we’ve been a 4 seed, a 6 seed, a 10 seed, and a 7 seed. Where is this Florida is a perpetual bubble team narrative coming from?

 

So... on the record, who ya rooting for this afternoon?

 

Regardless of how I feel about a coach, I always root for our boys to win.

 

As do I. Never understood how persons claiming to be Gator fans root against the Gators to have a "moral high ground" on a message board.

Yo, I was a student in 1979 / Pell's first year and still was cheering our boys on, but I'm getting longer in the tooth, instant gratification was not always a prerequisite to life, then, but the times....they are a changin.........

While I will always cheer for UF, I do agree with this part. His apologists are always looking for excuses. When the NCAA tourney was canceled, I debated several posters who claimed that we were poised to make a big run. They even said we were playing our best ball at the end of the year. I pointed out we’d lost our last game, and 2 of our last 3. They discounted that, so I told them if you went back 10 games, we were only 6-4. They argued we were still poised to go on a run. Nothing could convince them otherwise lol

 

Oh absolutely for the record, I'm rooting for Texas AM. Rip the band aid off the Mike White tenure and go out and find a coach that will give some new life to Gator basketball.

That 4 seed was the miraculous run in his second season with Billy D's players. Since then it's been all downhill. Bubble teams, regardless, still get seeds from 7-11. Florida is a perpetual bubble team, surviving on the fact that we win a couple in the SEC tournament. All the while averaging double digit defeats, inexplicable losses to winless teams, and never finished better than 4th in the SEC.

And White isn't a victim of instant gratification. The guy has had SEVEN YEARS to be ANYTHING better than mediocre.

 

Good point. The program is sinking, but it hasn’t yet hit the bottom. Give it another year or 2.

 

No matter the coach or sport I always assume we're in, or starting, a loooong Gators' winning streak.
