They do this stuff at a monthly level. December 2021 saw 11,567 thousand barrels per day. In December 2020, which was Trump's last full month in office, production was 11,084 thousand barrels per day. So it is actually correct. U.S. Field Production of Crude Oil (Thousand Barrels per Day)

Again, we just saw up the page that Norway, a country that produces 10x the total oil needed in the country, has high gas prices right now. How do you suppose that happens?
Oil production was at 11,056,000 barrels per day in January 2021 and is about 500,000 barrels per day higher than that now. 2020 has a slightly higher average than 2021 because production only fell off a cliff when COVID hit several months into 2020.
my mistake, others saying production has increased since sleepy joe took office, see post 8 above, production has not increased.
The market is global. There are lots of factors that affect gas prices. Geopolitics is one of the biggest factors as we'll see by the end of the month. Norway does not control the geopolitical landscape. The United States, the most powerful nation in the world, controls the geopolitical landscape.
From your link, choosing monthly instead of annual on View History at the top left, January of 2021 we produced 11.1 million barrels domestically and as of December we are up to 11.5 million barrels.
Interesting that the GOP's slogan in 2008 was "drill baby drill," set against the supposedly anti-oil Obama, but we ended up seeing what looks to be the largest increase on record for any president. Sort of reminds me of the economy. Folks think Republicans are better at it because they keep saying they are, not because they actually are.
Plank, can you explain your claim that production has plummeted under Biden compared to the end of the Trump administration? Figures don't seem to show that.
I don't understand why we all just can't admit the reality. Policy changes take time to really reflect the impact from them. So, about anything Biden signed in his first few days' policy wise has probably had little effect so far, but when you have a President that clearly states all in on energy production vs one that is all in on green energy first, just the perception of future policies effects the markets either negatively or positively. What is so difficult to understand about that???? Currently we live in a world that green energy is more costly than fossil fuel producing energy. As cost go up on fossil fuel, green energy becomes much more attractive. So, if you are all in wanting to turn all energy green, this is just the natural evolution that must take place to displace oil production. Just own it now, because that is what we are living in.
When you are in charge, you get to take credit for the good and blame for the bad. Whether you had anything to do with either is irrelevant.
been saying that about biden for months. libs just see what little good he has done and shout from the mountaintops how great he is, all the time ignoring the economic quagmire were are in.
Except it is not true that green energy is more expensive than fossil fuel energy. Utility scale solar and wind are both lower cost than gas or coal. U.S. levelized energy costs by source 2021 | Statista
Except it's almost always done through a very political filter: Your party in the White House - everything good is the president's doing, everything bad is either bad luck or his predecessor, assuming his predecessor was in the other party. Not your party in the White House - everything bad is the president's doing, everything good is either good luck or his predecessor, assuming his predecessor was in your party. It's really not anymore complicated than that.
Change the structure of fuel prices, but then Protectionism! Or Corporate Profits! Big Govt! It has been the same game since I bought my first gas in 70 President doesn’t matter, it is the roulette wheel of international affairs vs fear. There is plenty of supply right now, big corporate raking in bazillions. We only drill baby drill when prices are high, then lay everyone off and let the equipment rot. That is the free market system. Can you imagine the social media whining if we had odd/even rationing again. LMFAO
