Cal took a calculated risk. If he didn't run clock and the Gators got hot from 3 (don't laugh, it does happen on occasion) the Gators could have closed the gap quickly. He took a risk and it paid off.
It seems that most of the coaches get out of their regular offense and run clock with a lead and time running out. I can’t stand it, but it would be interesting to see data on whether it works better than running normal offense down the stretch.
There’s probably analytics they have related to variables like points per minute, offensive and defensive efficiency, etc, etc, etc. Everything changes second to second. Then some guy hits a crazy shot, or slips on a wet spot and kabloom
