According to the top comment, their top 3 holders are ALL from… Kentucky. Not just the pension fund. That’s weird. Maybe we need to ask Rand Paul about this. :emoji_joy:

A $13 million position is NOT a huge institutional position though. What is the market cap of this bank? For context, the #2 holder of Bank of America is Vanguard group with $25 BILLION

I know it’s Russia, but surely the biggest shareholders of their largest banks would have positions larger than $13 million?

Okay. I’m deleting that post. This has been debunked. Sorry about that.

Not surprised. 190,000 troops is off by an order of magnitude if you want to invade and control the largest country on the continent.

    They thought they'd waltz in.

Ahh. No worries. Typical Twitter fake newz.

Although they did actually have a holding according to the follow up from real media, as i suggested $13 million was likely a tiny position.

Funny that the R from Kentucky who responded to the fake newz tweet almost seemed giddy at the prospect of the teachers losing $13 million…

call it whatever, my point is that science is for common good, you only hurt society long term by pulling that into what’s happening.

Yes I'd read that. If that policy was in place for WW2 how much more would the Allies have allowed Hitler to do? At some point evil isn't rational. I get it, that's why I just type & there are experts handling it, but at what point does the world say enough? And I get the red line is NATO.

Does this mean Russia will be allowed to invade Finland? Sweden? They want to join NATO.

Will it be okay if Russia decides to blow up some nuclear plants/drop small tactical nukes? Those would hurt other countries too.

I get it. But I think Putin knows short of bombing London or Paris he can do what he likes. And his supporters here and abroad will cheer him for it.

In a stunning analysis, US says that after 9 days of war, the majority of Ukrainian combat aircraft and air defenses are still operational

Ukraine still has 'significant majority' of its military aircraft -U.S. official

Keep seeing that Russians are turning to crypto ... let that stew for a few days, then if the government has any bullets to crash crypto (big sales of seized cryptos, talk of regulation or banning, etc.) do it. And I say that as someone who invests a little in crypto.

Russian air force noticeably absent. Readiness, losses, willingness, fear of shoulder mounted SAMs? Im hoping this represents a schism in Russian military machine and air force is mostly sitting this one out

I don't understand why ukraine hasn't been deploying more drone assets at the front of the columns. Take out the front trucks 2 or 3 times a day and they will never get there

These are valid questions that the article also raises. I don’t have good answers. There seems to be a lot of positive views of the current strategy, but a severe escalation in Ukraine or an attack on Finland would make the quandary all the more stark.

Worrisome. Could lead to escalation. We’re dealing with one man who is described by many as unstable. Ie nukes.

Russia now blocking access to Facebook.

They're trying to seal off the country, insert their propaganda videos, and make it seem like the West is the aggressor & Putin must defend Mother Russia.

Oligarchs/others need to act fast or they won't have the support of the people...the young people will be arrested, killed, shipped off.

Yep which means they already know they literally can do what they want, even nuke Ukraine, as long as it's *just* Ukraine.
