Some Russian stockbroker was on one of the networks there and was being asked about the stock market etc and what the plan was. He took out a bottle of water, said he was emulating some other Russian stockbroker from 12-13 yrs ago, & was proposing a toast to the death of the Russian stock market and he'd go work as a mall Santa.

    Seriously??????? CNN live:

"US State Department tells embassies not to share Kyiv Embassy tweet calling nuclear plant attack a war crime

    From CNN's Kylie Atwood

The US State Department sent an urgent message to all US embassies in Europe telling them not to retweet the US Embassy Kyiv’s tweet calling the attack on the Zaporizhzhya nuclear power plant attack by Russia a war crime this morning, according to the message reviewed by CNN.

The message is an indication that the US government may not be endorsing the war crime allegation made by the embassy.

“All – do not/not retweet Embassy Kyiv’s tweet on shelling of the facility being a possible war crime,” the message said. “If you have retweeted it – un-retweet it ASAP.”
    .....
Thus far, the administration of US President Joe Biden has not said that any of Russia’s aggressions in Ukraine amount to war crimes. President Biden said they are following Russia’s actions closely when asked about the matter on Wednesday."

Yep saw that this morning from a Ukrainian woman who used her cellphone to record some of that. A 17 yr old girl was raped and then killed. It's what Russians do, what they have always done. My mom recounted a memory of WWII when she and her siblings were hidden not from the SS, but from Russian soldiers that were going from house to house to round up women so they could rape them. My grandmother was one of those that was raped and it eventually lead to her death a few years later. The Russian soldiers did more harm in those days than any Allied airstrike ever did. It wasn't until the US entered Berlin could the German people stop fearing for their lives.

Pretty common in pogroms as well. I believe the Orthodox Jewish religious tradition of women shaving their heads and wearing wigs arose to discourage rape during pogroms.

People are going to need to hide their phones & cameras. They're going to confiscate them I'm sure to keep this stuff from getting out.

    All part of peacekeeping, right?

    Serious or to avoid sanctions?

If serious, then it would seem the oligarchs either cant reach Putin or he has told them no. Neither is good

They did this for more than a decade in Chechnya. They still haven't faced any consequences for these war crimes. You are right, this is what they do.

    Another "military" target

    Cnn live
"People possibly trapped in rubble of wrecked apartment block in Ukrainian town, emergency service says

From CNN's Tim Lister and Olya Voitovych

Following a missile attack on a large apartment block in Borodyanka on March 2, the Ukrainian State Emergency Service has told CNN that people may still be trapped in the wreckage of the building.

Viktoriya Ruban, spokesperson of the SES in the Kyiv region, told CNN on Friday that "about 100 people may be trapped under the rubble" in Borodyanka but "it is impossible to give a more precise figure at the moment."

"Rescuers do not have access to these people due to the constant shelling. We are ready to evacuate people as soon as there is an agreement on a 'green corridor,'" she said."

This isn't politics. It is war crimes being perpetuated on the Ukrainian people.

Russia doesn't care, because there will be no consequences & they know it. Unless they detonate one close to a NATO border enough to cause damage NATO & the west will sit on their hands.

They could like up a row of children and execute them on live TV & they won't face consequences. Because it's not NATO. Russia knows it. :(
