Microsoft has halted sales, etc in/to Russia & is helping Ukraine with IT/cyberattack defense. Google will no longer run ads etc in Russia. Same with Twitter.

Medicine I agree with you to a point. The problem here is any research can then be taken over by the Russians at any time, projects and actual scientists can be held hostage to Putin's whims, any profits from any innovation could be either seized by Russia or frozen for collaboration with Russia. The space station...I can't imagine the level of stress up there for all of them since the Russians likely understand Putin has zero qualms about crashing them...oops I mean letting them fall out of orbit into somewhere on Earth.
Heard on the radio they're also filming propaganda videos of being welcomed into Ukraine, handing out humanitarian aid, etc, to air back in Russia especially.

I wonder how sanctions will affect people wanting to flee Russia btw? Like younger professionals, etc, who now will fear for their lives, see the writing on the wall, etc. In the old days they'd make a dash to the US embassy or other Western embassy. But not sure how that works in the modern age.
