Supposedly another reason for the stalled convoy. Cheap tires….

You know, we all talk about how poorly the Russian military is equipped. When we entered WW2, much of the war equipment failed - torpedoes, tanks, a ton of our weaponry just didn’t work well. But we fixed it and fixed it fast. Because we were determined to win.

I wonder how strong is the Russian resolve

This sounds like all those rumors of Trumps cabinet invoking the 25th (and obviously this is a far more dire situation). It’s nice to think someone (or group of someone’s) will step up, but the reality is it probably won’t happen. It almost never happens once you allow autocracy. Those pictures of Putin sitting at the far opposite end of a cartoonishly long table from his own advisors spoke volumes as to where they are at.

This is hardly surprising. Putin’s bot farm is at work.

Just saw a video that a Russian broadcasting location that was sending out propaganda, etc, got blown up by a Ukranian paramilitary with an RPG. I especially love the part where the Russian was saying "Everything is under control", then boom.

Uh-oh. Vlad's gone and done it now. Shouldn't piss off the librarians (speaking from experience a mom, sister, and aunt who were)

Nuclear fallout in a NATO member would be a trigger for Article V.

You’re not the first person to say so, but I doubt it.

If it happens as a result of an attack, why wouldn't it? (Genuinely curious, no sarcasm)

Not an expert in any way, but I would guess because NATO countries don’t want article V triggered.

I don't see article V being talked about in a serious way unless Russian forces either enter NATO territory, launch missiles into NATO territory, or bomb a NATO country. Let's hope like hell it does not come to that as that could escalate very quickly.

Just to make sure we’re talking the same thing, I mean if an attack in vicinity of a Ukrainian nuclear power plant results in a breach, and fallout is carried over NATO countries. No, I don’t think any NATO country will invoke Article V, and even if they did, I don’t think NATO at large will accept that. Russia would not be intentionally spreading fallout over NATO; it would just be collateral to their invasion and grossly non-proportional conduct of warfare. I think everyone understands that. There is even precedent with Chernobyl: also a result of criminally negligent (but different) behavior, but also not something anyone intentionally brought off. That fallout came down all over NATO, and no one suggested it was a case for war.

In truth, I’m not sure what it would take to trigger Article V short of an actual intentional attack on NATO member.

Well, the weather for the next week has winds flowing easterly and then southerly towards Turkey, which is 400miles south.
