Poles opening their country to help the Ukranians fleeing Russia. Poles know first hand about living under the "Iron Fist" extended from Moscow.

I’ve seen multiple headlines that Bitcoin’s market cap has surpassed the total value of the Russian ruble, which just seems impossible to believe, but even Forbes is reporting it.

This is an hour long call by the Orthodox Union yesterday. 4 Rabbis in different spots in Ukraine discussing the experiences there. From refugees to staying put to helping their communities and their neighbors. Some of the Hebrew may be hard to understand but I think got will get the context. Tremendous appreciation for the acts of kindness. Just donating to legitimate organizations that can help is critical because prices are so high. Interesting to note that Belarus has been taking on refugees and Moldova too. Watch: Rabbonim from Ukraine Discuss the Crisis - Orthodox Union

Just recently discovered that Zelensky is a member of the tribe. Hoping he doesn't become another one of our martyrs like his grandparents.

Zelensky is a brave man. He could have left and governed in exile, but stayed. Did you read upthread about the bomb hitting the Jewish Holocaust cemetery/museum today? Thousands of Jews who died in the Holocaust are buried there.

My next door neighbors are from western Ukraine and have family back there. They're lovely people but they struggle with their English. My heart aches for them.

I'm thinking that's how Russians are transferring money around now, fueling the BTC rally. I think it's a rally of roughly 30% in the past week. Pretty good returns, but pretty sure Russians are fueling a lot of that, as they have few options to move money around at this stage.

Just more reason for btc to be regulated out of business. When sanctions can be easily avoided by converting wealth to crypto something needs to change

This is why even if Kyiv and Kharkiv fall in the next few days, it won't matter in the long term. Urkainians will continue to fight until their death to keep Putin and Russia out of Ukraine. Add to that, there will be even more sanctions and the Russian people (who haven't already) will turn on Putin. He's fighting a losing war. Remember Ukrainians pushed Yanukovich out of office and he had to flee to Russia for safe haven. This is waaaaaay worse than anything Yanukovich did to ordinary Ukrainians. And the people of Russia are going to be fed up when food and goods triple in cost, whilst they are social outcasts on the world stage and can't vacation anywhere outside of Russia. American and European stores will continue shutting down in Russia. It'll be like a return to the USSR days. So if Kyiv or Kharkiv fall, don't lose faith in Ukraine. They will not accept Russian rule, period.

I suppose this makes sense to folks who pay attention to those celebs. As I do not (nor do I listen to Maher) I have no idea what this comparison even means, let alone that it “hits the nail on the head”.

My suspicion is we are going to find out how secure crypto really isn't in the next week or two.

Sorry, but I think Pete Davidson is doing a lot more for Kim Kardashian than NATO is doing for Ukraine.
