It is earth shattering when capitalists of this scale abandon profits.
It really is, this is a stunning indictment and loss of solidarity among big money (Illuminati) interests. It supersedes political ideology and political and geographic boundaries.

    Putin is screwed.

FIFA just announced it is suspending all Russian national and club teams from international play.

This was a big deal because every other team in Russia’s World Cup qualifying bracket had said they were going to refuse to play Russia - which stuck FIFA in a box of whether they kick Russia out or give Russia a free pass to the World Cup on three forfeits.

So much for Israel sticking up for Russia, if this is true we have a powerful, no nonsense military about to take a hard look.

Oy, we already had a thread debunking this. Israel isn’t “sticking up for Russia.” Israel is the only democratic nation that has good relations with both countries and was asked by Ukraine to serve as a mediator with Russia.

Israel’s FM and future PM Lapid has been clear that Russia is responsible and they are voting today for the GA resolution.

Petraeus is now saying that we have to consider the off-ramp for Putin because he is an autocrat with nuclear weapons that is increasingly backed into a corner. Not sure what that looks like because he essentially cornered himself, but it is something to start thinking about as the turns against Russia.

He had an off-ramp today. He didn’t take it. At when it was over he attacked Ukraine’s second largest city.

    This is who Putin is.

Yep. Because of his tough guy persona, he won’t accept any “off-ramp” other than Ukraine pretending that Russia had a historic military victory and achieved all of their objectives. Russia is never going to accept “it was a mistake to invade Ukraine and our glorious army got embarrassed, and all of the people we insisted were Nazis who had to be removed are still in power.”

The off-ramp, at this point, is probably Putin being deposed - the same as it always is for Russian leaders.

On some level, I hate to see this. I am a wrestling fan and wonder if UWW will do similarly. Wrestling is huge in Russia and it would hurt, bad, even for American fans. Same time, these types of moves might help further sway public opinion in Russia.

Agree. This was his last best chance after years of manipulating to weaken NATO and the international rule based order to obtain Greater Russia.

To use an ironic analogy, even if he takes Ukraine, this is his Waterloo.

That would not be good. They would have no problem with running civilians over with a tank or committing other war crimes against civilians. It will be different this time though as it will be documented much better than it was in Syria.

Yeah, I don't think there is a great option for an off-ramp, just thought it was an important thought as we go forward. Definitely need to keep the pressure on, but we do need to realize that Putin might lash out in very destructive ways soon.

I understand, I read the thread, my point is that any pretense of that is now absolutely false and woe unto Russia.

Putin isn't dumb. He's had a really long time discussing what is happening now and coming up with options to all of them. Based on the Russian tactics, it looks like Phase I was to test Ukraine's military. All of their attacks have been small, hardly anything involving howitzers or large ballistic missiles. Not even much in the way of air bombings. Putin's air force is powerful enough to lay waste to most of Kyiv, but he has opted not to use them. So is he just laying out plans to do that or will he pull back? No one knows what he will do because nobody has ever gotten him right. But the talk of Ukrainian forces winning the battle is way premature and maybe even a tactic by Putin. Russia has nearly 3 million soldiers and yeah maybe he's opting to throw out the 3rd Stringers first.
