There are many people right now who are arguing that Putin has somehow changed/lost it/gone mad and is not the man he used to be.

I couldn't disagree more. They have simply not been paying attention. This is who he has *always* been

News travels faster now but people forget during the first Chechen war how they stymied the all powerful Russian army. Outside of condemnations and useless UN Resolutions, they did this without much world financial and military support as Ukraine enjoys today. A true grassroots army. This is why it is important to hold Russia accountable because Putin may or may not back off now due to the pushback he is getting from Ukraine, but make no mistake, he will try again when the opposition is in a weakened state, as he did with Chechnya.

It's been suggested that if the Putin succeeds at deposing Volodymyr Zelenskyy he could restore Viktor Yanukovych his puppet prior to 2014 as the head of his new puppet government.

 

Three or four months?! I hope you’re being sarcastic. We need to not only stop purchasing Russian oil and natural gas immediately, but also we need to seize every bit of it that is outside of Russia’s borders as a war measure.

Yes, it is threatening to Moscow. They are happy to pretend Ukraine is a sovereign nation as long as they do exactly as they’re told. Joining the EU gives them economic independence of Russia.
