Yeah, that’s just the tweeter expressing their political opinion. I bolded what I was directing it to. I mean that curb music though… lol
It seems more that he's trying to find a way to criticize our role in getting to this point but he's treating Putin's grievances as legitimate. Thing is there are plenty of criticisms to be had, but NATO recognizing Ukraine as an aspiring member, NATO having forces in Europe, and Putin invading a sovereign country because he didn't get to dictate the situation are not among them.
Agreed and it was used to protect against potential threats. In this regard Russia is no different in asking for the same consideration. Get out of my back yard. None of this was an issue until NATO decided to expand.
"Ukrainians are proving to be what Americans were meant to be." -- comment on a tiktok video I just saw.
I really wish I knew how to post gifs here, because there’s so many I could post for this one. China looked around and said, “I do not want any of THAT” *gesturing wildly at Russia bankrupting itself*
That is what Russia wants you to think. It is BS. This was from 8 years ago but still applies. https://www.washingtonpost.com/opin...3a6f2a-5617-11e4-809b-8cc0a295c773_story.html Before joining NATO, each country had to establish civilian control of its army. Before joining the European Union, each adopted laws on trade, judiciary, human rights. As a result, they became democracies. This was “democracy promotion” working as it never has before or since. But times change, and the miraculous transformation of a historically unstable region became a humdrum reality. Instead of celebrating this achievement on the 25th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall, it is now fashionable to opine that this expansion, and of NATO in particular, was mistaken. This project is incorrectly “remembered” as the result of American “triumphalism” that somehow humiliated Russia by bringing Western institutions into its rickety neighborhood. This thesis is usually based on revisionist history promoted by the current Russian regime — and it is wrong.
I thought God wrote right & wrong on our hearts. So, now morality is just sticking a satanic finger in the wind to see what's in it for me? Please don't respond. It just makes god sad.
Russia was all but guaranteed that with UN Security Council Resolution 2022 which was never enforced. Instead NATO expanded their reach by admitting more nations bordering Russia. This is why we are in the situation we are in now.
Well, historically USSR and Russia have backed India in their wars against Pakistan while the U.S. sided with Pakistan. Pakistan has continued to receive US financial and arms support despite being known to harbor terrorist organizations that have killed thousands of Indians. So that might explain why India is sitting this out.
India has it's own problems with Pakistan and a boarder dispute that continues to this day. I can certainly understand why India doesn't want to get into the issues with Ukraine. 2001–2002 India–Pakistan standoff
