In fairness though, we don't know what White has asked for to know what that level of commitment would really look like. The AD has to be comfortable with the coach and his vision before providing additional resources. Maybe Stricklin doesn't believe in White enough to commit to that level. Maybe White has never really laid out a plan for his vision of the program and how he would like it to grow.
Look at what a football experience did for South Carolina for years - sellouts game after game for teams with +/- 0.500 records. Create that experience & the fans will show up.
Yes, I was very attuned to Gator basketball during that time. Kuisma could shoot the j! Lol - I know, but Stolt was a shooter. We had some decent guards in fast Eddie, Greg Williams, and a freshman Kenyan Weaks. If you look at Billy's first few years in terms of height. . . we were super short. I'm just trying to find some perspective, where little is seemingly available.
Your timeline is off. Billy’s final season was 2014-2015, during which the team finished with a 16-17 record. The following season Mike White went 21-15, and lost in the NIT quarterfinals, The elite 8 season was 2016-2017.
Billy never coached Martti Billy’s first roster had some pretty good players…. Eddie Shannon, Greg Stolt, Kenyan Weaks, Jason Anderson, Tiny Williams. The center position was a huge weakness.
Why are you knocking Kuisma? He provided instant offense off the bench for our first Final Four team.
Aside from Anderson, who transferred…. All had really good careers at Florida. They were way better than “serviceable”.
Even with all the great players since then, Eddie Shannon, Kenyan Weaks, and Greg Stolt still have their names all over the record book.
So back to the original title of this thread... Would a win at Vandy (guaranteeing that we're no worse than .500 in the SEC) and 1 win at the SECT get us in? I think it'll be enough to squeak in - or qualify for the play-in
Not possible. They added a dining area on the alumni side and loge and club seats. That would prevent flipping the student section.
