In fact I don’t know any Orange idol worshipers. If I used the n-word to address a question to a certain group, then I probably wouldn’t get an answer either. Why? Because the way the question was asked would be hateful and dehumanizing.

This is behind the peace proposal. The Russians want a quick end to this, to consolidate, prepare supply lines and go after those countries. That is why some of us think we should have intervened now, like it or not.

You have the roles backwards here. Iraq invaded Kuwait. It would be more akin to NATO bombing Russian forces as they retreated into Russia. We wouldn't do that for practical reasons, but it wouldn't be unjustified if we were at war.

Trump was the first person elected to the presidency who had never held elected office or held a senior position in the military. While some democrats tried to portray Reagan as an unqualified amateur prior to his election to the presidency he served two terms as the governor of the largest state in country, a state that if it were an independent country would have been among the top ten in the world in terms of GDP. I would agree that Trump was elected in large part because he wasn't a politician and more so because managed to create the illusion that he was a successful businessman although that facade was largely attributable to the character he created not the real Donald Trump who actually a gross incompetent. He started out in large part as the result of funding from his father and despite numerous bailouts from Dad managed to run six of his companies into bankruptcy; the stock of the one publicly-traded company that he ran plunged from a high of $35 to less than a dollar a share during his term as CEO although he did manage to pay himself an estimated $80 million during that he term. He ran a phony university and was pursued by the attorneys general of several states for screwing its states. He stiffed his employees, contractors and creditors frequently paying them pennies on the dollar to settle debts. All of that was public knowledge but sadly most of voters just saw the entertainer doing insult comedy at his MAGA rallies. They never bothered doing any research on the real Donald Trump. The other reason he was elected, and it was partially the fault of the Democrats, was his ability to play to grievances. A lot of blue collar workers in the heartland ended up losing their jobs, primarily as the result of technology. Trump in effect promised them he could resurrect the America of the '50s and '60s when a person with a high school education could get a relatively high paying job at the steel mill or auto plant. Trump blamed the situation on environmentalism, immigrants and the Chinese and they bought into it. He also brought elements of racism and nativism into his spiel and one very notable Democrat responded by demeaning his supporters as "deplorables". Not a good strategy. The DNC's strategy of trying to put the fix in for Hillary also backfired alienating enough progressive Democrats so that they stayed home flipping enough states to Trump to give him his victory.

The US learned some hard lessons about tanks in Iraq, even the mighty M1 had vulnerabilities in Urban combat situations and modified the tank in various ways to adapt to those conditions.
This is the Chechen approach, and what has always been the fear. The first incursion into Chechnya during the First Chechen War Russia got embarrassed, the subsequent times they “learned their lesson” and essentially leveled Grozny. (Note that during the Second Chechen War they also offered the Chechen rebels safe passage out of the city, then the day before the rebels were supposed to leave the Russians mined the road and concentrated all of their fire on the rebels when they got stopped by the mines. So never trust Russians.) (Further note: inexplicably, notwithstanding this history, today some of the most brutal Russian army units are Chechen - including ones that they have sent to Ukraine.)
