Armed or not they are out numbered with bows and arrows compared to colt 45's and winchesters. The only outcome is to perish or concede.

You're hardly nuanced, nor should one claim to be in times such as these. I'm not a huge fan of Biden and disagreed vigorously with how he handled the Afghan withdrawal, but that's history, as is how he has imposed sanctions, which no one on this site has any idea whether that's being handled appropriately or not.

That is probably the base case, and may be his long game play. To just absorb it all regardless of the near term impacts, then get sanctions “lifted” down the road. Indeed he may be hoping he has a “friend” back in the Whitehouse in 2 years. He doesn’t face elections, and in no way answers to the people, outside of the oligopoly. Sanctions are only good as long as they last. Hopefully Putin croaks before this plays out the way he imagines.

That may be good news the question that remains is how much ammo they have and can it be replenished?

    Deep sigh…

Setting aside that Russia isn’t communist anymore, echoing Hitler’s “Lebensraum” is…a choice.

Likely not to many AR's and .380's in the Ukraine, more like AK's like this:

I based my opinion on hearing his conference today & listening to the CNN folks, reading online, etc. Opinion was mixed and that was a much repeated question by reporters from said press conference. *shrug* I'm not an expert by any stretch.

He actually didn't answer the question but a reporter had yelled out " if the response was to be swift why are you waiting until after March 1st?" Another one that stood out was "If the point was to deter Putin, he's now invaded & is actively attacking Ukraine, then what are you waiting for?". Two very good questions. Which he didn't answer...other than at one point conceding the goal was to make sure he didn't go into NATO territory & that stopping Putin from invading Ukraine wasn't the point.

This feels a little like appeasement from WW2, to be honest.

I was thinking we did a number on the Brits in 1776 and 1812.

Tubberville isn’t wrong, if by “feed his people” he means slicing up billions of Ukraine’s wealth and resources between a few of his pals.

if the West feeds hardware to the Ukrainians the skis will feel pain.

The professionalism of the Russians remains to be seen, they have not exactly impressed since 1945 and we're bumbling fools in Afghanistan.

I'm not so sure this is a walkover

Biden has no answers for anything and the media for the most part has let him get away with it. Tide is turning.

IMO it's all about the Ukrainians will to resist.

Historically speaking, at least in the bulk of the country their is little love loss between the skis and Ukrainians.

Reference the Collectivization of Farms and property. I can assure people that
their is a cross section of Urkrain society that has NOT forgotten the butcher's bill brought on by the Russian communists.

Want more? Watch WW2 war videos of the Wermacht riding into Ukraine, they were initially welcomed as liberators and showered with flowers until the Eisenstatz Gruppen started killing everybody.

    Ukrainians HATE the skis.

    Think chess.

When you checkmate an opponent and win the game, it’s not because you physically took the king. It’s because you put the king in a position where he cannot escape.
