ESPN story: Howard throws blow at Badgers coach after loss link in story above - I saw this live just a bit ago and can't believe Howard swung on the guy, total punk move after refusing to shake hands. Has to be a big suspension coming from the NCAA or Big 10.
Doubt Howard keeps his job after this. Not the example you want for your players. Game was over, time to show sportsmanship and accept the loss with dignity.
How can you tell your players to keep their cool when you can't do it yourself? Not a good look. This isn't the Bobby Knight era of basketball anymore.
One poor decision in the heat of the moment. I'm not so sure he should be fired for it. It's a terrible example and appeared that a player or two might have taken swings also (?), but I'd need to know more before suggesting that this momentary lack of discretion result in losing the gig.
Apparently UM was down big at the end of the game & had a full court press on while Wisconsin had all bench players/walk-ons in, so Wisconsin coach called a time out.
Mad about a time out. Your team got got blown out and they didn't want to have a turnover so they called a TO....Grow Up.
Not the first time he has had anger issues with opposing coaches. Anyone can make a mistake but if you don’t learn from it, there should be consequences.
Some poor decisions are simply unacceptable. Try swinging at someone at any workplace and you won’t get a second chance. This isn’t a 20 year old kid we are talking about. He is a 50 year old grown man. Inexcusable.
