That’s why it’s gone where it’s gone . Sumpteme Court says ncaa was out of line. They can’t make their own laws governing private citizens

But why can’t they make their own laws governing their sports?

Because the Sumpreme Court says so in some aspects. I’d guess they’d have to go the way of the nfl if they wanted that type of control. Legal representation on both sides and rules that must be followed. Teams can be taken away from owners by the collective group of other owners. Clippers owner got his team taken away didn’t he? In college, it’s a mess. Vandy doesn’t give a shit if Bama cheats, they just want their $54 mil. They aren’t even attempting to compete. Having 128 teams that don’t belong on the same field and pretending it’s the same level creates all kinds of problems. Most teams don’t care if the big boys cheat because it doesn’t affect them. They take the cash for being blown out in a farce of a game a few times a year to pay the bills. Half the schedule in college football is a farce. If it were boxing, it would be illegal to make the matchups. The only way I see it working out any better than now is getting 32-48 teams that actually try to run a program to compete and giving those schools power to actually vote like the owners do in the nfl. Those schools would actually care.

I don't see how that relates to UF, but perhaps the way other schools have been operating out of the gate.

The in-line TE will get some balls thrown their way. The biggest difference between an inline TE and the “free” TE or whatever they call that position is that the in-line TE won’t go in motion. A guy Livingston’s size, athleticism and skills can probably get PT at both positions

Not exactly, the Supreme Court ruling was actually quite narrow in that it applied to only education-related benefits. The NCAA kind of just got spooked and overcompensated in the other direction. I suspect that they will try to enact some more nuanced regulations.

What did the ruling mean regarding "education-only benefits?" NIL benefits are benefits for someone who is (supposedly) here to get an education. Does it mean something deeper than that? In fact, the NCAA never said athletes couldn't sell their images; they just said they would not be considered an amateur athlete if they did, and, so, could not compete in amateur athletics. Somehow, the train seems to have gone off the tracks in terms of a wider interpretation.
