I disagree. Saban has a process and it’s left to the individual to buy into that process. He’s not got time to coddle or coax individuals. Similar to what Billy Napier is building at Florida. The system, the process and everything you need to become your best is in place. Trust it and make yourself better or don’t and fall by the wayside. He specifically mentioned how those kids put their own personal priorities above the team. That was the message. The fact they lost the game because those individuals didn’t prepare properly was the point of his message. Success on the field is directly impacted by attitude and preparation. Shitty attitude, shitty preparation equals shitty results!

I agree with what you say, but the buck still stops with the coach. Obviously there is a process and it’s up to the individual to buy in. I know this type of process well because I operate the same way with my young sailors. But at the end of the day, they need to understand the process which means even if I don’t want to sit there and hold their hands, I still have to command them on how they need to go about their day. The result NEEDS to be my expectation, how they get there is on the individual. Same thing applies here with Saban. His expectation is Win a NC, practice great, compete for a job or whatever you want to say. If people are slacking off in practice, he is as much to blame as the kids. Even if part of that process is for other teammates to call out players, the Buck stops at the coach, the buck stops at me, the buck stops at any supervisor, not the kid/subordinate/employee.

I wish we would have started using the all white script helmets earlier. I also wouldn’t be made if they brought back that gator print from the green uniforms if they used it with blue jerseys.

Yet you can’t make chicken salad out of chicken chit. Sometimes the players just don’t turn out to be as quality as other times.

When star Hs players, who have been entitled, get to college where they don’t have to study, someone does this for them, given money to his family and himself, cars, adoring fans telling him how great he is, well you get an entitled player. That is the Alabama way! You can’t have great young men who are solid students and act as leaders to being great boy friends, husbands outstanding members of wherever they live unless they were raised that way. Even then players like Ruggs had a great family but the benefits of money and fame led him astray. Without the guidance of his family and three or four hundred people on the payroll of the athletic program, now he was with others who had money and fame with minimal guidance. Many young men have flamed out in the pros. Yes, the Alabama process, is to control every facet of a kids life. Some kids that have been entitled never believe what anybody else says because they take the easy way out, take the money, and get by on the physical traits.
Thus Alabama shouldn’t be surprised, they inflated their self worth! Saban can only control once they are in his program, by sitting them on the bench.
Not by teaching them life skills and guiding them to an education that they can use once their football career ends. I know, this isn’t popular with a lot of kids and if they are recruited without all the enticements, they might get players with true commitment to getting ahead in life and just not bringing another championship to Alabama!. In states where football controls every fiber of their lives, you will continually find athletes failing in life.

He put a lot of effort into slimming down for round ball. I hope he can put in the same effort to strength train for football; otherwise he might be another of those players without a position that we spent some scholarships on over the past few years.

Livingston looks like the prototype for the position he was recruited to play at UF, Inline Tight End. Hocke will have him big enough and strong enough by August of 2023.

Osceola HS (in Kissimmee Fla) DT John Walker just recently added UF as a school of his interest. Its believed that the #1 RB of the 2023 class Lehigh Acres HS's Richard Young's list of top schools are LSU, Alabama, Ohio St, Georgia, Miami, Clemson and UF in not a particular order.

And so Rivals lists John Walker as a likely UF signee at this point. And then there is ....
I guess all they had to do is ask?

It's early but so nice to read so many great players have legit interest in UF.

I think he should be an inline guy, but I'm pretty sure he expects to be a playmaker, not an inline guy. That is why I think a lot of recruitniks thought he was a take if he was going to beef up and be an agile OT, but not a take if he wanted to be TE/WR under Mullen.

I think we all expected a two year turn around for recruiting so if it turns out we miss on a few gems this cycle because we do not have our NIL sheet together, so be it. TBH I expect that to happen. I would not feel that way if we had an effective NIL game. Maybe we do and I don't know about it?

K Harris is cb'd to an extent to fsu already. That's good news if it signals he is willing to stay and play in Florida.

I wonder if A&M can come up with enough money to do it again and if in the end PT will be a factor. A player will not expect to see the field if they keep getting recruited over. But OTOH, if all they have to do is show up to practice for a few seasons and get paid maybe they won't care. Before NIL, PT was an issue because they have to show their talents on the field in order to play at the next level.
