Still can't figure why Felder plays so little. 3-4 for 6 pts, all in the first half. Add in 5 RBs and a couple blocks. Barely played in the second half.
Funny....we had started out so well..when was that back in December? I was excited.. thought we finally turned the corner..then, it all went down hill after that Texas Southern loss...smh..gets worse every game
I think Mike White’s coaching has them boys overthinking and that affects their confidence and FG PCT. If shots aren’t falling, we are small ball with an above average defense.
This box score is kind of amazing, both teams had 40 rebounds, 12 assists, 14 turnovers, and 18 personal fouls (even both had two technical fouls). If we had matched their 100% free throw shooting ...
that was a soul sucking, chitty, horrible loss. A lot of ref home cooking but a lot of terrible basketball to make us susceptible to it.
I didn’t feel like there was any home cooking at all. We just didn’t have anyone step up and make a play down the stretch.
Yeap..we shouldn't leave it up to bad ref calls to determine a win/loss...we should play 2 halves well..rebound, make shots, good defense, play smart and not foul a 3 point shoot with time running low
We should have everyone on this board agreeing with this. When you go on the road and not aggressive going to the hoop from the beginning of the game, you give the opposing team the momentum. We waited to about the last seven minutes of the game to get aggressive. We just played stand around and chuck three pointers. my wife was watching with me and ask, why don’t they try to get closer. This is on the coach. No telling them to go inside with the ball aggressively. Our coach is passive/permissive and it rolls right into this team. AKA even you can’t condone this type of basketball we are playing! This ranks right up there with Texas Southern. Bobby Knight used to watch our games, with this program now he doesn’t want anybody to know he has ever seen Florida play. We won’t beat Vandy in Nashville with this coach and going to Georgia will be a replay of this game. No court side coaching and working the refs, just being a nice coach who thinks this is cool to be on the sidelines of a school like Florida. Heck, I thought he was here to direct this program to winning games. Dumb me....
With one time out in his pocket, and 19 seconds on the clock, our coach elects not to take the time out but to let them play. Result: instead of one of our few decent offensive players with the ball in his hand, as should have been directed by the Gator head coach, one of the worst offensive players pulls up for a jumper rather than taking the ball to the hoop and potentially getting fouled. Poor coaching is an understatement.
For the product he has put on the floor 6 of the 7 years, I think Mike White is doing a hell of a job selling kids on a vision that will never come.
That had to be written prior to the UK loss. UF is not going to be a top 5 seed after losing to A&M. The only game left I'd say is better than a toss up is the UGA game. Vandy is playing well and it's in Nashville. 8-10 might be me wearing my O&B glasses at this point.
I disagree. A number of pivotal calls that I do not understand. The weirdest one was a ref calling a T on a T A&M player and then it became a T on McKissoc. The very last play was either T A&M #15 knocking it out or a foul on on him from what I saw on review. The call on the floor was Gator ball. And after review it was T A&M ball. I saw nothing on review that would without a doubt give them the ball.
