I guess it was technically Fusion that had been hired by Republican candidates in the past, and they are the ones who started developing this Dossier on Trump. Not sure about Steele himself, who was hired by Fusion. Although as I said - he had the intelligence background AND a history of rooting out corruption (and specifically, Russian corruption). I don’t see what being British had to do with that as far as being “involved” in elections. He wasn’t making a campaign contribution, he was being contracted to do a job. Are you aware of a law that prevents this type of work even in the realm of politics? You are making it as if Steele was handpicked by Clinton, or that this entity was created just to “shield” his employment. Can you even show that Clinton knew Steele??? You seem to be making some assumptions there… to arrive at the desired conclusion. If this was intended to influence the election, it doesn’t make much sense anyway, as the Dossier leaked only AFTER the election and had effectively nothing to do with the Mueller probe, nothing to do with impeachment #1 (Ukraine), nothing to do with impeachment #2 (1/6 insurrection). Trump is just an endless river or corruption, so it’s difficult to comprehend this so called Dossier actually had not much to do with anything (unless you were Carter Page or one of the bit players caught up in it).
The crime family won't necessarily have to be indicted for us to know what really happened. Think O.J.
Who got sent to jail for colluding with Russia? Please provide a list of names and what they were convicted for? FYI - It is illegal to knowing false information to the FISC. That is what FBI agent Clinesmith plead guilty to last year.
A number of guys got sent to jail for lying to investigators. Flynn pled guilty to lying to the FBI but of course was pardoned by Trump. As was Manafort. We've never had a more corrupt president than Trump.
It is not illegal to hire a foreign company or person for a campaign. Trump did it with the data operation in 2016. It is illegal to accept contributions from foreign sources, and it is criminal of the value of the contribution exceeds a certain amount. I think it is $2,000. Again, the Trump Tower meeting folks were not charged because there was no proof of the value of what was offered. Roger Stone was not charged in attempting to secure the hacked emails because it is not a federal theft to endeavor to obtain already stolen electronically stored information. As for the investigation that is the subject of the OP, the attorney is charged with lying about whether he was paid by the Clinton campaign. He billed them. Doubtful HRC was involved at that level with the legal bills to the campaign. It is a crime to lie to the FBI or testify falsely. We learned during the Mueller investigation they these are process crimes when Trumpers do it and worse than Watergate when a Dem does it. Except that the information in this case was legally obtained. As opposed to hacked emails, which were criminally obtained by a foreign intel whence and which the Trump campaign endeavored to obtain as a benefit, albeit a benefit that is not criminal and whose value cannot be quantified.
There is some much incorrect info in your post, it would take to long to go through it line by line. As I said earlier, it isn't illegal but that doesn't mean it should happen. See my post about DeSantis hiring an ex-Mossad agent. Do you think that is a good idea? Yes, the higher ups in the Clinton Campaign knew about Steele. They lied about it for almost a year. The Clinton Campaign lawyer stated he knew that Fusion GPS and Steele were briefing reporters on it. The information about Trump being under investigation by the FBI came out before the election. Harry Reid accuses Comey of sitting on proof of Trump-Russia ties, possible Hatch Act violation David Corn wrote the infamous story about the Steele Dossier in Mother Jones in late October before the election. The Alfa Bank info the Clinton Campaign publicly promoted. Clinton Campaign paid for Oppo Reseach and then had the media briefed on it to get it out to the public. They had Reid reference it in his letter to Comey then leak the letter. If you don't understand the why it is a terrible thing that a FISA Warrant was issued against a POTUS Campaign aide based on fictitious oppo research paid for by the opposing campaign, I cannot help you.
This is what's going on in that investigation. The source told Fox News Monday that Durham has run his investigation “very professionally,” and, unlike Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation, his activities, and witness information and cooperation status are rarely, if ever, leaked. “Durham does this right and keeps it a secret,” the source said, adding that there has been “much more activity” in Durham’s investigation “than has been visible to the public.” The closest look Durham has given with regard to grand jury witnesses came in a federal court filing last month, outlining materials that had been provided by the special counsel’s office to defense attorneys for former Clinton campaign lawyer Michael Sussmann. Sussmann has been charged making a false statement to a federal agent. Sussmann has pleaded not guilty… BREAKING: Durham Probe Accelerates - More People Cooperating and Coming Before Grand Jury -- Bill Priestap, James Baker and Dirty Marc Elias Mentioned
Oh fudge. Don't worry Lefties, we'll keep you up to date while your "media outlets" refuse to cover the investigation.
Manafort, Stone and others did “collude” with Russians. Multiple proven meetings offering and seeking campaign assistance. There was insufficient evidence to charge criminal conspiracy, for the myriad of reasons discussed in the Mueller report. Some of which I addressed in my post above. (For example, you can’t criminally conspire to access stolen emails because the federal theft statute does not cover stolen ESI). The bipartisan Senate Select Committee assessed that these contacts enabled the RUSSIan active measures. Makes a very interesting read.
Flynn was charged with lying about it. Flynn, Manafort, Stone, etc.—the liars— all commuted or pardoned. This particular indictment is pretty narrow in scope. The other charge from the Page warrant is the attorney who allegedly doctored evidence.
