Yep, I get it as well and can't wait for the Rowdies to purposely find a random Kentucky player to pick on back at the end of the season.

Yes, you’re getting the hang of it quite nicely!

He’s the head coach of a major college basketball program, therefore he gets the credit when things go well, and when things go poorly. That’s generally how it works. He got the job done last year after losing KJ, but the loss in the second round was pitiful and on him (just watch the last 8 mins of that game again and you’ll understand why). He also gets to take credit for constructing the roster this year, which has some significant holes, no real identity, and lacks consistency in almost all phases of the game. I’ve been supporting the program since the early 1990’s, and at this point my expectations are higher than what the last 7 years has yielded, and what the current trajectory appears to be. Would I be ecstatic if the team went 4-2 down the stretch, made it to the SECCG, and then the sweet 16? Of course. I would immediately give him credit and would be happy with him back next season. The odds of that happening though are probably 0. Therein lies the problem.

We had a 7 game streak between 2005-2008. One game was the SEC tourney championship in 05. 4 wins in 2006-07.

All the wins in that streak were against Tubby Smith coach teams, except for 08 which was Cal's first season.

Billy coached teams won just 4 times at Rupp; 98, 06,07 and 14.

Cal's hiring changed the series dynamic. We had a great run going, but they brought
in the heavy hitter and started playing for keeps. Our administration took a different approach. The results are clear to see and are not going to change anytime soon unless some attitudes are changed and a commitment to win at the highest level is adopted.

Dude we weren’t enjoyable to watch when we were winning. Tf are u talkin about. His teams have been diff to impossible to watch for at least 3 years. U took some awfully big liberties there heb assuming at any point I’ve said anything different here.

I’m a glutton for punishment evidently. It’s at the point that I wonder if my dvr is trolling me when I see the game on there. I’ll never not watch , but it’s been the exact same team for several years now. Same errors , same deficiencies. We’ve become nc state

We lost to a top 5 team undefeated at home
F$U lost to an unranked team that was beaten like a drum at home against Duke, just a week ago

That would be wonderful. In fact yesterday's Florida Kentucky game was good because the refs did not decide it, the players did.

In the SEC the refs are often the difference. I wanted Arkansas to beat Auburn; however, the FT differential was the game. Arkansas got 32 FT to Auburn's 17. I don't think in a fare contest that Arkansas can beat Auburn.

Basketball is easy to get really good quickly...all he needed to do was get these two transfer players Tshiebwe and Grady and UF would be a top ten team. It only takes one or two players to make that swing you just have to be willing to cough up some money for those studs. How do you think LSU/Auburn/Baylor/Houston all of a sudden got players...it's not because everybody just loves the coaches and the program...its about the money! We are working on a recruiting budget that is significantly lower than the major players in the game so you end up with players that you have to take a flyer on hoping they will develop or turn into NBA level talent. We just flat out need to up our recruiting budget and go get the elite talent.

fwiw - I used to enjoy some banter with ya back in the day. Driving by to dislike Gator posts after your team dominated ours, though, w/o chiming in . . . . . seems petty.

Interesting take. I keep looking for these "gets credit" posts when things go well. I guess there were a few here and there after the recent four-game win streak, but I'm not finding those posts from the usual crew of detractors.

Can you imagine if we had signed Tschiebe and Grady right out of high school? I can. I just can’t guess which colleges they would be playing for right now.

No sir. Insulting players or coaches or posters results in edited or deleted posts. An established member has to do a LOT to get banned by @GatorGrowl.

NBN exists to discuss Gator basketball and we all have different opinions at times.

If you want, send me a PM.

ET, I am changing the subject a little because you’re from East Tennessee. I watched the Samford at East Tennessee State game yesterday. Before yesterday, ETSU was 17-1 all-time against Samford. Samford beat them on the road in overtime yesterday in a wildly entertaining game. Glover was unbelievable, scoring 23 points and playing great on both sides of the ball to lead Samford to victory. What a shame that Mike White failed to identify the talent of this kid.

I don't follow ETSU unless they win their conference tournament, grabbing their ticket to the big dance . . . which they seem to do more often than I'd think.

Since I didn't get to see Glover, I'll defer to you because you know what you're talking about.

I'm glad you caught a good game though. Most OT games are. My grandson lost in OT in the dream scenario: 0:0.4, down by 1 with 2 FTs. He's only 9 but I can promise he has a newly-found fire for practicing FTs. He said his knees were shaking which probably brings back memories for a lot of us. LOL! :)

I guess Kentucky schemed to limit his opportunities, would have to review the film to confirm that.

The only issue is that the more Ls FSU takes, the more our win against them loses its luster.
