Annnnnnd Miami came back and won.

I think we will definitely need to beat UK or Auburn and then most likely the rest. Uphill battle for sure.

It depends on what the other bubble teams are doing as well. The bubble teams could be picking up higher, quality wins to move up into the Tourney projections. That will be something to keep on eye on until the last conferene tournament ends.

For instance, after the Wolverines beat the #3 Purdue Boilermakers, Jerry Palm of CBS has Michigan(13-9) as the last team in and Florida as the last team out. Currently, Michigan is playing #16 Ohio St in a close game. Earlier in the season, Florida's win over the buckeyes is considered the Gators' best quality win on their resume. If OSU can defeat Michigan, that might be a good thing in two ways - OSU's resume strengthens while at the same time, perhaps Michigan gets knocked out.

Recently, Oklahoma (14-11) had defeated #9 Texas Tech and the Sooners were also one of the last four teams in the NCAA CBS-projections.

2022 NCAA Tournament Bracket Predictions - Bracketology - College Basketball

Even though teams like Oklahoma & Michigan have not won as many total games as Florida (16-9, 6-6) has, those teams have much better quality wins than the Gators. Previously, the Gators have missed out on securing more of these higher quality type of wins against teams like say LSU, Tennessee and even Oklahoma.

Michigan just lost again. They are not in as we speak and this loss helps us big time. Ohio State continuing to win helps us. As I’ve said many times before if we can meet Vandy, Arkansas, and Texas A&M we are fine. If we win two of those three and win One SEC tournament game we are in

IMO in that scenario it’s a toss up. Destiny is out of our hands at that point.

Florida's next opponent is at Texas A&M and they are a funny but talented team. After starting out 4-0 in the SEC (which includes a win over Arkansas), the aggies have now lost 8-games in a row, yikes! In the non-conference, Texas A&M also has wins over Butler(BigEast), Notre Dame(ACC) and Oregon St (PAC12)

I hope Florida beats Texas A&M and keeps their losing streak going. A loss to the aggies could be a disaster to UF's resume.

Yep, must win game for sure. Hoping we have Appleby back. Tough to win without your leader and only PG.

He’s our only Point guard, only true ball handler. He’s not a 2. He’s our primary ball handler as evidenced by every game. You may not feel he’s a true 1 but he is and we lack creators. He is our only true creator as evidenced by him leading us in assists and recently having A 10 assist game. Are you saying we have no point guard on the team? I’d agree with only 1 but disagree with your thoughts that Ty is not our point t guard.
    McKissic is not a PG.

the SEC is separating itself into a top 6 and the rest. We are 0-5 against these March Madness bound teams. Our only quad 1 win was against Ohio State.

We need 20 wins (including sec tournament) AND probably two home wins out of our final 3 ( Auburn, Arky, Kentucky) to get a bid.

If we go 3-3 in the remaining SEC games, but only beat A&M, Georgia and Vandy, while losing the 3 home games against ranked teams, I seriously doubt we make it.

Here is how I look at it. Last season, we played without a true point guard. Instead, we played with 4 guards in Mann, Appleby, Locke and Lewis, none of whom were point guards. We are doing the same thing this season with a bunch of guards, none of whom are point guards. We have not had a player truly directing the offense for the Gators since Nembhard left. Glover is a true point guard for Samford this season, but he wasn’t given that opportunity by White.

It won't matter. Once we are 16-12, we will be hoping to make the NIT. We have 2 road games after this 4 game gauntlet against cream puffs but we don't play all that well on the road. Then we finish at home against UK. Possible we could finish 16-15, basically like I said at the break. Most likely, we finish 18-13. Would need to push 2 more wins to get an NIT bid, but it looks like the only way we get an NCAA bid is win the SEC tourney. The only other game we could win is the season ender at home. Going to be a tough couple of weeks.

You and I agree about Glover but even the link I sent you validates what I said that Ty is a point guard.

I don’t think that we disagree, but I view Appleby as a 2-guard playing out of position at the point. If I was coaching him, he would be my instant offense guy coming off the bench. He does have the skill level to play the point, but he doesn’t have the point-guard mentality to do it well.

Boys, the schedule, the way it falls, doesn’t favor the Gators. Texas A&M needs a win worse than we do, they play us at home, with our walking wounded team?
    Auburn @ Gainseville
    Pearl versus White’s walking wounded?
    Arkansas @ Gainseville 9 pm?
Georgia @ Athens a Saturday game, maybe a win.
Vandy @ Nashville 8:30 pm not ideal and Pippen needs to atone for his game in Gainseville?
Kentucky in Gainseville, I don’t see a win here.

We are staring at 17 or 18 wins, then the SEC tournament, where we need an easy draw to get a win. I don’t feel twenty wins. Will this get us in the Big Dance? I don’t know. Nobody nation wide cares about our schedule so if we struggle in all our games, we won’t be heading to the dance unless they feel sorry for us. We will be a draw for the NIT. Rough rough year. I don’t know if we can recruit enough depth/physical guys, to get us out of this NCAA tournament Miss for next year. Even if the freshmen turn out to be good players, they are Freshmen in the SEC. Just think how much Noah, Horford played as freshmen. We don’t even have a pg on the Radar to help. Think the song,
“Here we go again” Willie’s song. Man, no administration help, no UAA help, we need another coach with experience to help CMW, we need NIL money for big time PG’s, wings and bigs, add promotional help to bring in Gator Fans to games.
CMW seems to be a micro manager and a friend to these recruits. he doesn’t help himself with promotional things, we never hardly hear from him on his team, him calling for fan support, another coach or the worst recruiting.
Think our new football coach Billy Napier, he is bringing coaches and analysts, trying to push for NIL help, talks recruiting year round, daily! CMW needs help and that might not be enough!

But by the time these freshmen are juniors, we should have a solid team. So, don’t we need to give White ten years?
