Lack of JJ cannot be understated in this one. We have no second body to throw against a dominant big man. This will be a struggle the rest of the season for us against any team with a good 5 man
We'll just have to disagree about that. They made 3+ 3s late to add another 10-points. Game was 10-12 difference much of the way. Closer than that going into halftime and right after.
Kentucky is really good this year. I expected to get smacked, especially with no JJ. Without him, it's hard to slow down UK's center. I hope Appleby is okay and can play next game. Hate it or love it, our offense runs much better with him handling the ball. That play by BM wasn't intentional and the Felder thing is not a big deal to me. Diving for a lose ball and standing up for your guy. If it was reversed, I'd say the same thing on both situations.
I expected us to get crushed today. The happy thing is that I thought UK would score around 90 points.
If we'd lost just because talent then whatever but rebounding was pathetic and they beat us to so many loose balls.
That's about par for the course for every team Kentucky plays this year. They have the best rebounder in college basketball in the last decade, if not more. He reminds me of Rodman with how he figures out where to be for a rebound. It's crazy to watch.
The story of the game: 41-25 rebounding differential today. 18 offensive boards by the kittens with 10 by their big guy alone. 20-7 advantage in second chance points for the blue bellies. Kentucky shot from about 2-feet (or less) much of the time. Coach White's comments coming up . . .
Calipari with poor sportsmanship by leaving starters in and running up the score when the game was over with 5 minutes to go. UK was shooting 3s to the very end. That should motivate the Gators when UK comes to town.
