I know it doesn't really matter, but Lunardi's Last Four In/First Four Out has been bizarre lately . . . . Before the Mississippi game on Feb 5, he had us in the Last Four In. Then, after we beat Ole Miss, he dropped us into the First Four Out. Then, after beating Georgia, he kept us in the First Four Out. Apparently winning 2 games in a row hurt us in his prognostications. (I always wanted to use that word. )
Really about what the teams around us did. If they won, but had more impressive wins we can still drop. Need a marquee win in the upcoming games and need to hold serve in games we should win, including A&M.
We haven’t beaten a top 50 NET team since Ohio State so our resume is pretty bad. Mississippi State (outside looking in) and Oklahoma State (no tourney chance) are the best wins since.
We had to have these 4 wins, they just weren't against very good teams. I do like the way the schedule sets up, other than today's very tough game, all of the tougher games are at home and we have a chance to play our way in. It won't be easy, but the opportunity is definitely there.
He has Miami as the last four in and it looks like they will lose today. He also has UNC as the last four in and they are smoking FSU right now. We definitely need to beat Kentucky once and one of Auburn and Arkansas. We also can’t have any bad losses the rest of the way.
It doesn’t take a fortune teller to see the big dance isn’t in the cards for the Gators this season. Our chances are slim and none, and Slim just left town.
Gotta win against quad 1 teams. Gotta beat AM, Arkansas and Vandy as 2/3 will be quad 1. Win those 3 And we are in
Look out for Memphis and Michigan, they are starting to catch fire. Plus you have to worry about teams like Gonzaga, Murray State, Loyola-Chicago becoming at-large teams should they lose in their conference tournament.
As much as we wanted to beat UK at Rupp today, this was our least winnable game this season. UK on the road, and they are possibly the best team in the country. We have a shot against them at home. We showed we can play with them for a half, but doing it for 40 minutes is the difficult part.
