While being #12 is not ideal, last season, (correction)#11 UCLA did make an NCAA run all the way to the Final4. There were also a few #11 seeds that made the Final4 as well - George Mason in 2006 comes to mind.

With so many highly ranked SEC teams still left on Florida's schedule, the Gators will certainly have many more opportunities to improve upon their resume.

Well I got a lot of criticism for defending White over the years, I might not know how to handle moving to the other side.

I'd just like to acknowledge and congratulate the UAA for holding onto the Covid Social Distancing Policies from two years ago especially in the 1st level alumni side. It showed so well through the cameras how all the fans behind the benches were so evenly spaced out at least 6 seats or more. Certainly there were more empty seats than those that had fans in them. I'm sure the UAA must have sent out notices for those fans to stay home and donate their yearly booster contributions to their favorite athletic association. Congratulations on showing the rest of college basketball, and especially those recruits here in the southeast, that we care so much to keep those best seats open, instead of the scene they saw last night in Arkansas of thousands of fans actually having fun and celebrating a big win over Auburn that can energize the rest of their season. It sad that some of our fellow SEC members continue to ignore our procedures and show college basketball how disinterested we really are.
    FLIP THE CAMERAS!!!

Well at least it prevents us from embarrassing our program's tradition by storming the court. There'd be like 10 dudes in jorts and that's it.

Kentucky is probably going to kick Florida to the curbside in Rupp Arena. I have no expectations there what so ever. Even Mike White says that Kentucky is one of the best transition teams in basketball and could easily score 90+ points on Florida as Kentucky has already defeated Tennessee, 107-79.

Kentucky averages 81.4 pps (9th best in college basketball) and 78.8 ppg in SEC games. Meanwhile, Florida averages 71.1 ppg (#183) but only a pedestrian 66.6 ppg in the SEC (which is ?#8 in the SEC). Most of Florida's SEC wins have come when the Gators have scored ONLY in the 60s or low 70s.
Florida Gators News, Scores, Status, Schedule - College Basketball
Kentucky Wildcats News, Scores, Status, Schedule - College Basketball

Kentucky has had four SEC games where the wildcats have SCORED 80+ points or more {92(vs UGA), 78/77 (vs Vandy), 107 (vs Tenn), 82 (vs Miss St), 80 (vs #5 Kansas), 86 (vs S.Car.) }. Florida has only scored over 80 points once in an SEC game.

The Gators have done a nice job in getting to 16-8 (6-5) and back into the NCAA Tourney picture. Perhaps in the return trip to Gainesville is where Florida will have their best chance against Kentucky but only if Florida can score 80+ points and/or hold down Kentucky's offense to the 60s/70s which is what Auburn and LSU had previously done in their wins over UK.

The 5-12 matchup is always a popular pick for upsets come bracket filling time.

He has potential to have a breakout season next year. If he becomes a more sophisticated ball handler, watch out.

I’ll get ripped, but you wouldn’t have seen the team’s reaction if the cameras were aimed at the students

After watching our computer rankings fall ( #51 in Ken Pom) since our four game winning streak began, I suspect they will improve a bit, unless we get totally massacred at Rupp.

Man, I wasn't sure I was going to post this in the Old Miss thread or not even post at all. I decided to add to the discussion

IMO, we are the equal to Old Miss. That game could have easily been lost but their last chance shot in regulation missed. And then the home team won. We lost BAD at their place. And the game should not have been down to the last shot/OT. We had it all wrapped up in the last minute or two and just had to prevent a bad series of events.

I watched the first half of this game and some of the second. This is against the worst team (record-wise) in the SEC at home and again it seems like they find ways to keep it "interesting" instead of showing how much better they are from an UGa. The mental lapses are just plain aggravating. It all feels like the old "wash, rinse and repeat" cycle we are used to.

I predict we are going to go to the tourney and be 1-1 or 0-1. The team could have checked out beginning against Oky State and then it would have been the end for White. But they didn't and so they are battling the best way they can (which is good) but without enough coordination/mental acumen to overcome the better teams. It feels like what we had to endure this season on defense in football.

Men's basketball is like tooth sensitivity, not bad enough to pull (yet) but not what you want to endure.
