This is why this thread is kind of pointless. In the grand scheme of things does it really matter if we barely get in or barely get left out?

Unfortunately, it might matter to Steve Stricklin.

Yet the same crowd gloat after every narrow victory over an average foe. Don't get me wrong. A win is a win and we have had some hard fought ones lately that deserve to be celebrated but to act like each one is some "I told you so" moment is just as wrong as denying them ANY credit. Lots of nuance to go around in these arguments.

antny1 - With all due respect. Hopefully you know that I am not exactly happy or on the CMW bandwagon. HOWEVER if the Gators are winless I'm pulling for our boys. My "coaching" hangups are superseded by my fandom. I can't pull for our guys to "LOSE" over some moral or intellectual high-ground about the coach but that's my makeup. AND I understand the point of view of: "Well a change will be much better for the program" I'm just not that "far-gone" yet to be hatin on CMW.

Just my point of view......with respect

    Go Gators

I like to call him Steve. It reminds me that I don’t know his first name.

I thought my comment made it clear that I feel the same. Always want to win and yes...i want to limp into the tournament this year if thats what it takes. All good. No disrespect taken or intended from my end either.

Edit: while I'm ready for a change I'd rather we go on a run, show some fight in the SEC tournament and then watch White make some definitive changes in the off-season and remain the coach. I just don't want to see the same thing for another several years.

It just seems the same year after year and if you are emotionally invested like we all are, being on the bubble every single year is stressful and draining. It has caused me to care less.

That being said, seeing Florida’s name pop up on Selection Sunday always feels like Christmas to me. I hope I get to see it this year.

Outside of an extra game or two (which we'd get in the NIT), why do you care about the NCAA Tournament? If we have no chance at winning it then what is the point? A weak seed is one thing if the program is on an upward trajectory, but not when the program is stagnant.

Every college basketball fan cares about the NCAA Tournament. 68 good teams, playing for it all, AND EACH ONE HAS A CHANCE AT WINNING IT. It's awesomeness personified.

This is a strange take in my eyes. There are usually only 10 or maybe 15 teams with a legitimate chance at winning it all. I don't see falling outside of that group as being any kind of failure. Your point about seeds is valid, though, and I understand that many are frustrated.
I'm enjoying this season, though. The team started off hot, beat FSU, got a buzzer-beater against OSU, and then things went south for a bit with our trip to Norman. TXS & Maryland were yikers and then the SEC started off with a brutal schedule. People should have known that we were gonna have a rough start to the conf season.
Then Castleton went down and something happened. The guards stopped playing like crap. In fact, they have had great games here and there. Now Jones has relocated his mojo, Kowacie has been vastly improved from the start of the season, and Lane is providing yet another kind of spark.
Castleton is back and playing well. They're winning the games they are supposed to again and maybe can steal one before the end of the season. The season has been fun, afaiac.

So unless you're one of the top teams that have a legit shot to win the tourney, no point in watching? C'mon man, that's weak. Thankfully, yours is a minority opinion. At least I hope so.

This team and program is not fun to watch unless you’re fine with rooting for a top-50 team and watching chaos on the court. I am not.

Do you think they've moved the ball better, gotten better shots, and shot better in recent games? We're back to having good inbound plays of late and Jones appears to have broken out of his funk. We went from having no shooters and no good guards to better shooting and improved guard play. We're seeing more minutes from Reeves and Lane.
BTW - do you know what happened to Kennedy?

That's fine and certainly your choice.

I get the frustration, but it just seems odd that posters who don't watch games are the first to bitch and whine about the program during and after every game, even wins. I'm sure all will be out in mass with the next loss.

That consistent negativity just sucks any joy out of the forum/season for all.

68? What happened to 64? It becomes more worthless of a tournament by the year. No different than bowl games.
