I mean, you're following the data from an administration that blocked the ivermectin pill for humans that won a Nobel prize and now are passing out $30 million worth of crack pipes to advance racial equity (they are free Hunter). This administration is trying their best to put the Babylon Bee out of business.

And what is the data? The FDA has shared data on the emergency use booster that has only been available for a few months and that emergency use booster now carries a FDA warning for myocarditis & pericarditis.

You do realize that ivermectin creators won Nobel prize for ivermectin treatment of parasites, and not Covid?

And we do have the November and December Public Health England numbers.

79% of the deaths involving covid were by the fully vaccinated in November. And 75% in December.

Good to see the trend stop. And we continue to see a strong majority of vaccinated deaths. On November 30 there was 69.5% of the population fully vaccinated. On December 31 there was 71.1% of the population fully vaccinated.

    November Deaths

    unvaccinated: 536
fully vaccinated (two ore more shots after the time frame considered): 2261
some vaccinations status between fully vaccinated and unvaccinated: 65

    December Deaths

    unvaccinated: 614
fully vaccinated (two ore more shots after the time frame considered): 1802
some vaccinations status between fully vaccinated and unvaccinated: 72

The one concerning piece was that in November there was 286 that were considered fully boostered that died of the 2261 fully vaccinated. In December it was 639 that were considered fully boostered that died of the 1802.

Ya I hear no drugs ever get repurposed... never happens.

In regards to Ivermectin, lots of data out there. I think there is enough data that it can help some but not a cure-all for sure. High-risk people were better off taking the jab than risking the chance something like Ivermectin was going to save them.
The problem is, most studies don't have people taking just ivermectin when dealing with covid. Very hard to have a controlled randomized study. It is just a very safe drug that people wanted to hope as a wonder drug. It may not help that much but if it was one of many things you wanted to try while dealing with covid, it sure didn't hurt you.

You know, over 90% of the UK adult population are fully vaccinated. So out of 100 people, 90 would be vaccinated. From that group, 7 people would die from COVID. Out of the other 10, 3 would. The ignoramus would look at that those numbers and say he'd rather be in the group of 10, because only 3 have died, versus 7 in the other group. The smart person would see the odds greatly favor the 90, as only 7.7% of them die, versus 30% of the small group.

As for ivermectin, it won the Nobel Prize in 2015. Four year before COVID-19 (named for the year 2019) was ever an issue for humans. Ivermectin is a great drug to battle nematode worms. The drug has shown anti-viral effects too, but only in the lab. And only in amounts that if taken by a human, would be fatal.

you do realize that many medications created for one thing work well for many others? For instance, 6mp was created for cancer and ended up being a great med for ulcerative colitis. Are you aware of Aspirin? Helped with pain for last 100+ years. Now we find it great for your heart. I could keep going.

Yeah, the key is that they were found to work well for other things.

It's not just a ivermectin or nothing. Lots of doctors very specific about mg's of zinc, vitamin C, quercetin and D3. They didn't just pass out ivermectin to the 225 million people in Uttar Pradesh.

So what? Just because some drugs work on other things, doesn’t mean most or all do. As far as I know there isn’t even a scientific theoretical basis as to why ivermectin would work against a virus. But ongoing studies should sort it out. I don’t have a dog in the fight one way or other.

As others have stated here there is a theoretical basis why it may help in some poorer countries - as getting rid of the parasites helps you fight Covid. I think I read that using steroids when you have worms makes the condition worse, and thus makes steroids less effective for serious Covid. Having ivermectin knock out the parasites takes that out of the equation so the steroids are able to fight Covid related inflammation.

Dr Anthony Fauci has said that the US is moving out of “the full-blown pandemic phase” and that safety measures to limit the spread will be increasingly local. “There will also be more people making their own decisions on how they want to deal with the virus.”

Welcome to the club Dr. Anthony Fauci. You sound just like Ron Desantis. Only a year too late.

This is the dumbest post of the year. The poor countries were already taking the HC and Ivermectin. Are you aware how well they are doing or not doing? Steroids and antibiotics are for the 2nd phase of the virus. If you don't make it past the first phase, which 99.9% people do, that is when these 2 drugs need to be used and your doctor should how you are doing.

You calling my post dumbest of the year is rich.

If people are taking ivermectin, even prophylactically, then they won’t get worms/parasites, and if they get Covid steroid treatments will work much better. Also you are just going to be healthier and have stronger defenses if your body isn’t riddled with parasites.

I've traveled to 26 different states during this pandemic. I conducted myself the same in all of them.

Nope. He is able to say such things after the emergence of the Omicron variant which has likely infected a majority of the population, and of course you are completely mischaracterizing what Fauci is saying here. Which is not “pandemic over, party it up like it’s 1999”.

Right now the virus is on the decline, in some areas it may be a few more weeks to get all the way there, but clearly we are on the downslope of this Omicron wave of the virus. Fauci is saying going forward they hope/expect to react locally to emergent outbreaks. I actually think it’s early to make this proclamation (just because of how the idiots would react if a more serious variant emerged, which necessitated something other than what is predicted here). This is NOT Desantis’s position. Desantis position is and has been to essentially OUTLAW most public health measures against covid. To remove local control and restrict public health officials. To essentially put his head in the sand, and I guess hope that “freedumb” is better for him politically than grieving families.

As far as being a “year too late”, you would make this argument during the delta wave with a straight face? Come on, think for yourself. It’s not even rational if you think about it.

Yes, I would. I think as soon as effective vaccines came out for adults, we should've ended the mandates and the lockdowns.

Why now and not then? Aren't people still dying from COVID? Aren't children still not vaccinated? Why now and not then?

Right. Because parasites plus COVID incense the chances of serious illness or death because the immune system has 2 issues to fight and is weakened. So the ivermectin helps eliminate the second risk factor.

You may recall, as the vaccine was first being rolled out, we were in the middle of a substantial wave. Some locales did relax their rules, before putting them back to help
    deal with the delta wave.

I think these pronouncements are a week or so premature with the death numbers fairly high, I do expect in
a couple weeks these numbers will
drop off a cliff. After that, who knows.

So should we shut down when the next wave or spike happens?

At what point exactly are the deaths or death rates low enough for us to shut down? Don't you care about the people dying from COVID?

This is probably true for many drugs that help address an “underlying condition”, but that doesn’t make it a good idea to take it if you don’t have that condition. In this case, if you don’t have parasites.

The problem with those pushing these things with zero basis: yes, there is a slight chance it works. There also a chance it does absolutely nothing. But there is also the chance it’s a net negative. That’s why you wait for the broad study to inform the best practices, not a bunch of quacks on Twitter.
