Looking at Lunardi's latest projections, we are 1-5 vs teams in the field, with the Ohio State being our only win vs a tournament team. That's a bummer. Still have chances against Arkansas, UK (2) and Auburn, but could end up being a very bad record against good teams. Here's hoping we can steal a game or two.

    Agreed!

Yeah, in some of the latest CBS/ESPN bracketology projections, Florida is still the "first" team out of the tournament along with teams like Miss St, Florida St and North Carolina.
2022 NCAA Tournament Bracket Predictions - Bracketology - College Basketball

Florida should have beaten LSU. Late in the game, the Gators were within one or two points several times but could not make the necessary plays to get over the top.

Tennesse was another possibility for a quality win as Florida was up eight at halftime. Then, Rick Barnes' vols started playing "thug ball" and the game got away from the good guys. Such a classy program as Florida lost Jason Jitoboh for the season.

Hopefully, Florida will see some of those teams again in the SECT and maybe get a bit of redemption.

Florida also has some important home games against #1 Auburn, Arkansas and close out the season against #5 Kentucky. Those will be UF's best opportunities to pick up any quality wins (along with Kentucky on the road) and maybe move up in their NCAA rankings (currently moved to #44 from the previous #46 NET ranking).

I think we need to get to 9-9 but I only see 2 more wins. Ga. at home (Ga. is a different team at home so I don't see us winning there.) I think right now we can beat Texas A&M who are tanking right now. Vandy at home now with Chapman is not a win. Auburn is playing to the competition almost lost to Mizzou and Ga. So that is a maybe. KY I think is going to be the best team in the SEC so I don't see a win. Arkansas is super hot right now. If we had shooters I would give ourselves a more of a chance. But our 3 pt shooting is just bad. Aren't we 13th in the SEC in shooting %? Maybe we can get hot one or two games but I don't see it. But there is always hope.

there will be one game coming home where we have a good night from deep. Just hope it nets us a big win when it comes, because we need it.

It's going to be tough. The team's bad shooting makes even winnable games questionable. I think 9-9 is a reachable target, but it will require 0 slip-ups. @Georgia and @Vanderbilt will make or break the season barring unforeseen upsets against Kentucky, Arkansas, or Auburn or a deep SEC tournament run.

    Current Record: 15-8 (5-5)

Key wins: vs Florida State 13-9(yikes), vs Ohio State 14-5 (neutral site) vs Miss. State 14-8

Bad losses: vs Texas Southern 9-10 vs Maryland 11-12 (neutral site) at Ole Miss (12-11)

Must-win games left: at Georgia, vs Georgia, at Vanderbilt, at Texas A&M

Key games left: vs Kentucky, at Kentucky, vs Auburn, vs Arkansas
    ---------------------------------------------------

A couple of weeks later and now 2 of our solid wins have lost a lot of luster. 4 must-wins plus 4 opportunities to pick up some key wins that will help the tournament resume.

Man those bad losses, if those could of been eliminated the tone of the whole season is different. That Texas Southern one is just such a head scratcher.

Which is why I SMH at the apologists who crow their binary absolutes here after every win. If anything our ability to compete and win against almost anyone in the country illustrates the frustrating pattern with White's teams year after year.

I like the QB analogy. It's not just about throwing touchdowns but how consistent you are as a QB and how you minimize turnovers and mistakes. Winston threw a ton of TDs with the bucs but they were a mediocre team. Take away the turnovers and they were Super Bowl winners and contenders the following year.

That doesn't make me a White detractor or make me want to see him fail. I've said it repeatedly. Show the ability to put a streak together, protect home court and minimize the bad losses then we are good. Record and results will fall into place. I don't care about setting definitive championship goals or expectations. Just compete and breakthroughs will happen from time to time.

When you're right at the bubble boundary, a lot depends on what happens in mid-major tournaments. You don't want a bunch of upsets because that might steal away a few at-large berths from the power conferences. It's much better to be comfortably in.

Yeah, conference tournament runs eat up one to two seed lines in the end. If you aren’t 7 or 8 teams to the good come conference tournament week and don’t make a run in yours, you likely aren’t getting in. So right now we are probably two quality wins away.

On the plus side, we've got our all-conference center back, and we're shooting the ball a little better, both at the free throw line and the 3-point line. We just might be able to finish strong.

The remaining games. Four wins looks possible to me but not probable. I like UF to finish 3 - 5 / 18 -13 going into SEC tourney.

    Auburn is #1 22-1
    Ky looks great x2 19-4
    Arkansas good 18-5
    TAMU same as us 15-8
    Vandy 12-10
    UGA x2 6-17

18-13 going in, We may need at least 2 wins in the SEC's to Dance. Certainly at least 1 I would think

Even if we beat Vandy I think we would be out.
We need one or two more quality wins

    Thanks ..............iam4uf

    Looks about right to me.

oragator1 - Yes, I think UF needs to make a little hay in the SEC tourney, if they finish out 4-4, and will REALLY NEED to make hay if we finish 3 - 5.

Vandy would be a Q2 win & TAMU a Q1 if we could get them. But we have to beat UGA 2x.

I love your positivity but I can't see us going better than 4-4 and 3-5 is most likely. I think we lose to Kentucky twice, Auburn once, and Arkansas once. I would love to see us beat A&M but I am not counting on it. Hopefully, we bag the dawgs twice, here and there

I would be surprised if TAMU is quad 1 by years end, but if it is, that’s what we need. We only have one quad 1 win, and a quad 4 loss. Those essentially offset, so we have nothing. We need a signature win coming down the stretch, and then maybe we can play the “Colin was out for some important games” card with the committee. And hope the bubble stays soft.
