Agreed, but as always, I do wonder how much of that is by design and coaching direction vs what happens organically and in the flow of the game based on what the players are seeing.
Wish we had more of these type of plays, with CC catching it on the move. He moves well for a big guy and has good hands. I’m just not as confident in or half court sets, when we slow it down and put Colin in the box. We’re not a good enough team shooting the ball to consistently force spacing and don’t seem to get good weak side/ off ball movement for offensive rebounds and put backs.
I think I saw more assertiveness from Duruji during CC's absence. Yesterday, not as much. We need to get him attacking regardless of who is on the floor. Except for the fade-away jumpers. Please.
We should be able, I think, to do both. If the defense shades toward Colin , hopefully our guys get better at taking advantage of it. CC made most of his shots late yesterday, but seeing others attack the glass could add a nice option/ opportunity for easier baskets.
another win at home, great to see - it looked like on TV the fans were getting into it pretty well, especially second half. this team is going to live and die on its defensive intensity - the last few games we've really shown a ton of effort and hustle on that end of the floor. I like the press with all the rangy athletic guys we have, they're really making the opposing ballhandlers work hard on the front half of possessions. still pretty inconsistent offensively, though - as others have said, CC inside is our best offense and we're not a good shooting team at all. We'd be better off just attacking the hoop on every possession moving forward and taking 3s as a last resort. beating the poodles for a winning SEC record would be an awesome mid-week accomplishment and put us on a confidence high going into the UK game.
Yep. Beating the 6-17 Leg Humpers in Gainesville should have us charging into Rupp brimming with confidence.
ha, I was thinking more about it being 4 straight in the SEC, but at this point I'll take whatever we can get, brother
