Stats don't tell the whole story, and he's not being sent in to start firing away. He's bringing energy, defending, and setting screens. Watch him on the defensive end; it's reminiscent of Scottie Wilbekin.

 

I very honestly didn't mean it disparagingly. I too would love to see +/-. But it jumps out.

 

started and played 28 minutes today. He didn't score for the third straight game, but we are 3-0 during this stretch.

We need to design a few plays for him. No one we play is looking at him as a scoring threat.

To me there was a noticeable difference especially on the defensive end when he is on the floor vs when he isn't. 28 minutes, 0 TO's and he's not forcing shots. He's terrific defensively and hopefully over time he'll be more of a scorer, but for this year he's playing his role well.

His offense is kind of raw to warrant his own set plays, IMO.

I agree with the previous post. He clearly doesn't have a green light for shooting, but what a defensive display.

 

Would love to see +/- stats on a game by game basis, especially since CMW regularly refers to it (Castleton +16 yesterday). If Lane's presence can yield a positive result in a tight game, then he is deserving of minutes, no matter then score.

 

That's why we need plays he can succeed in, things to get him to the hoop. Backdoor cuts, pick & roll, etc. You don't need to be Kobe to score uncovered at the hoop.

 

He scored a thousand points in high school and has this description in his profile:

• Slashing wing who can finish at the rim, and an explosive athlete who defends and rebounds his position well.

• At his best offensively in transition, known as an elite finisher on the break.

I'm not sure what the trouble is with his offense now.

Hope he finds some…somehow. He can’t wait for Mike or the coaches to help him find it. That may never happen.

If he could pose any kind of offensive threat, that’s a huge boost going down the stretch.

 

He should get some points like Dennis Rodman got points. No designed play, but some will come due to his fierce defense.
