Not sure who this is about, but, going on an in-home visit to drop a guy is probably something you can trust an outgoing staff member with. Well, except maybe the one guy who hangs around the fax machine ...

Gibbs. The RB we had committed but he ended up at Georgia Southern which i mean, if we’re being honest, goes to show he shouldn’t have been a darn take in the FIRST place by the last staff. That’s why i edited my post to say “i dont see an issue with it” once I gave it thought

Gotcha. At least he didn't get a text, which seems to be the way a lotta breakups go these days. ;)

Send assistants they know....family pissed, show up in person....family pissed (see Evers), don't contact within 48 hours of taking the job...family pissed (see kid from WOHS).

Not sure what CBN could have done other than honor a scholarship that he didn't authorize or want and be held hostage by the other guy's recruits. Sucks for them, but life is full of tough breaks that you don't just sit around and whine about.

Honestly I think if I was in that position I would send the coach from the previous staff to let him know. It would have been nice to contact the kid or came to see him though.

He has completed his HS “studies”, per his father, the AD at Kennesaw State.

Any major recruits from Winter Park these next couple of years? The problem is that these high school coaches hold grudges and steer players elsewhere.

I'm generally pro-player and I'm usually more than happy to criticize coaches (even our coaches) for the way they treat high school recruits, but I really have no issues sending two assistant coaches to tell a player in person that they're not going to honor his scholarship offer. If you want to make the argument that a new coach should always honor every scholarship offer the previous regime handed out, that's fair, and I'm sympathetic, but that's not how it works. Letting Gibbs know in person is a pretty classy thing to do, really.

We suck so bad at recruiting and talent identification that we are getting fired and letting you know that you will have to get picked up by Georgia Southern where you really belong.
