And hopefully, more makeable shots than the 3 pt shot, which is not our strength, plus if we get lucky, a few more trips to the foul line.
Completely agree. It’s like when his back is against the wall he coaches better and becomes more innovative. I noticed that as well. When we lost JJ, I was thinking yo myself that Coach was going to mix things up and we would see what some of the other guys are really made of. Reeves has been a nice surprise. He’s a lot more ready than I thought he would be. Jones hitting shots is key, too. Imagine if he had been hitting threes like that all season. We’d probably have three more wins and be ranked.
Agreed…except about Jones. He scares me they way Lane scares others who post here. I hate that I cringe everytime he shoots or dribbles in traffic
Hopefully those cringe days are over. He was constantly missing wide open shots, which isn’t normal for a shooter of his caliber. Let’s hope that funk is behind him. It happens to every shooter… you just have to contribute/score in other ways until you start hitting again.
I remember a certain coach who did that quite a bit early in his tenure at UF. Hmm, can't remember his name....though
I watched Jones play a bit up here in Penn State country. I wondered how tough the adjustment would be. Many mistakenly believe that the Big 10 is better than they are. The pace of the games and the athleticism of the SEC is superior. Those open looks don't stay that way for long. Hopefully, he's gotten more comfortable and has adjusted. He can be a huge asset down the stretch if so.
