I think the bare minimum expectation for a recruiting class at UF in order to compete at the level we should be competing at is top 10. And legit top 10, not a Dan Mullen "#9 overall class with three of the top five prospects never seeing the field" top 10. So that's where my expectations are for the 2023 class -- needs to be in the top 10.
It’ll come down to cash along with good coaching and great recruiting. No cash is no top class. I’m de not convinced Miami can play that game and the jury is definitely out on us.
9 would be fine. With the evals being much better, we would avoid primadona 5/4 stars that will transfer out in year 2. See Alabama this year and especially Georgia. Most of the recruiting gurus never set foot on a field, court, or track. They are journalism majors, That are round/oval in opinion and body composition.
There's a ton of talent coming out of FL in 2023, a lot of them coming from areas that have been traditionally feeder schools to the Gators (I'm now including IMG since we unlocked that box this year). I want everrrrybody, but even if we bat .600, I would say we are top 5, and that's being conservative. Note: My opinion is worthless, I honestly thought we would get everrrybody this year.
Establish a solid state of Florida footprint in 2023 and I could care less where we finish nationally! In as far as this year's class the Gators finished with only one top 10 and only 2 from the top 30 from the state of Florida...........that more than anything has to change moving forward in as far as recruiting is concerned, for me to be convinced Napier is the guy.
On that list. Only 2 liked UF. SMH Alot of those kids posts in the social media that they are pro gators. Are they pretending to like UF? I don’t let 18 yr old kids troll me. So I will say 16th to be realistic.
a lot of those haven’t been updated recently but it just goes to illustrate the point many have made with how far behind we are because of the previous staff. The number 1 player in the state, McClain, is a HUGE Gator fan but last season loosened our grip on him. posted on TOS (247)
If we learned anything by what just happened in the second signing day, and by we I mean our coaches, then I can see a top 3 easily next year. Top class even... if we can get the best ones to sign early. You just know that legal tender was used, as in real cash in hand, to entice these last few players away at the last moment. I think our coaches learned that painful lesson. We also need to land 5 of the top 25 players from the state of Florida...
recruiting is fluid year to year but it’s STUPID impressive to already be a hat on the table for as many kids we were this cycle for both ESD and NSD. Hate to compare, but we weren’t hats on the table with kids during Mullen’s transition class (which is fine and expected) so we’re already ahead of the curve Remember….we could have kept Evers, Gibson, CJ Smith, EJ Lightsey and been pushing a top 10 class this cycle. Many folks forgot that in there “disappointment” of yesterday missing out on those top targets.
Top 10 (6-8), just don't think UF is there to compete with Bama, UGA, LSU and A&M just yet. I just hope they concentrate on Florida and keep a lot of the studs in state.
