Why not? They got everybody else. This is why it will take us 3 years to compete. Just a few teams getting all the very best talent for a few years now. If you aren't one of them you don't really have much of a chance.

With the class that A&M got they should be expected to win a Natty in the next few years.

My question is how many transfer out in 2 years if they aren’t getting playing time? Or even next year. Money may keep them there though too I guess

Time to see direct correlation of payroll to recruiting class and where we are going to be. I’m very happy with Napier but if we can’t compete in the new world of paid college football, I’m out. I’ll always want us to win a but won’t dedicate my time if we aren’t 100% going to try to be competitive. How in the hell does a team like Vandy have actual fans. I’ve been a Padres fan for40 years and that shit gets old when you can’t really afford to compete.

That would be a great job for some… getting paid good money to sit on the bench.

But they get paid for making us think they do. That works for a while

Most 18-19 year old young men don’t know themselves from one minute until the next. Neither do most 68-69 year old men.
In all seriousness I think it’s fine to be a little disappointed in how things finished, Napier kinda alluded to it when he said he had never finished with 100% of the players he wanted, and that he needed to explain that to some of the younger staff.
Given it’s a transition year it simply is what it is. I think Billy learned from his initial foray into SEC recruiting. He has always understood the importance of the NIL aspect of recruiting, but I’m not sure he totally understood until now .
He is correct that other factors are in play… if you have a diploma that says The University of Florida on it you are both proud and appreciative of its long term value, but I’m not sure more than a handful of high schooler’s get that at this stage of their life.
The truth (at least mine) is Napier and his staff did an amazing job with the time and resources they had, but they also understand it’s not good enough on the long term… that to me is the difference in this staff and the previous staff.
This staff is disappointed and knows if they don’t up their game they’ll be gone, (read Katie Turner’s tweet) I’m not sure all of the previous staff would have felt that way with a similar class.
In today’s recruiting environment I can’t look into the future with any certainty and predict this staff’s future, but I can say if they fail it won’t be from a lack of passion or effort.

they bought the number one class and they prepared for it. We dawdled around on NIL. While we added coaches, analysts and dieticians. Which is great, but for us to be a player in the top five we are going to have to be abled to get the big dollars, or the Perkins, Citizens, Dudley’s, etc decide we have enough on the table. These recruits talk about what LSU, Ala, Texas A&M, Okla, Oh. st. Etc, will bring ya. We have never been there and unless Billy has an analyst working with the Collective/Lear company telling them whom is great, we will never get there. This reality. CBN has built a good system, but the NIL has to be tweaked so we are not just a free meal, trip, entertainment, Hat on the table! He probably knows what it takes.

It is what it is. It doesn't bug me all that much. It will certainly be interesting to see where college football is in 10 years, good or bad.

Let's see what BN and his staff can do for 2023. That will be the ultimate tell IMO.
