This year was a top 4 seed or fire. The regular season is the true measure of success.

Unless we damn near run the table White should be gone.

He won't. SS is a very good money man but he accepts mediocrity. Our minor sports will go down. He is happy with 17-16. Look at Miss St.where we got him from.

    Hi Matt -

I have UF pegged at 17, maybe 18 wins to finish and that includes the SEC tourney.

IMO that leaves the Gators OUT of the dance.

Imo, I still think the Gators get in if they go 500 in the SEC and beat Oklahoma St. I think non conference wins vs Ohio St., FSU and Oklahoma St. would be enough if they were 500 in SEC play. Not confident that this will happen.

The easiest way to get to 500 in the SEC is to win the following games:
At Missouri, Miss, UGA, Arkansas, at UGA and at Vandy.

Knowing Mike White's track record and this team's inconsistencies, it's safe to assume that Florida is probably losing 2 of these games.

That means the Gators need to pull out 2 of the following:
At TN, at UK, at TX A&M, Auburn, UK.

At minimum imo Florida needs to go 5-1 vs the 6 most reasonable wins on the Gators schedule as mentioned above and find a way to get an upset in one of the 5 hardest remaining games.

That's why the loss last night was so damaging. Best guess scenario right now is 8-10 in SEC needing 2 wins in the SEC tournament to have a shot. Most likely we're looking at the NIT, which should end White's tenure, but apparently doesn't matter as he's coming back.

That's what we're going to get.

I don't see how an established coach with a winning pedigree at a major program is coming here.

Agree that White's days are numbered, unless CC comes back soon and things turn around. However, we'll get a similar coach to replace him.

Let's win the next three. I think having any tourney chance is dependent upon a Castleton return relatively soon. If we get the next three, we could win six of the last ten and go 9-9 in conference. That + win a game in the SECt and I bet we get a bid. Again . . . . gotta get CC back. And no, this is not an endorsement for the coach.

I hope we can beat Georgia at home, they just took down Auburn. At Missouri I don’t like either.

You almost gave me a heart attack! Georgia took down Alabama, which is a good team, but not Auburn level. If UGA had beat Bama and Auburn back to back I would be wondering what alternate timeline I had been transported to ;):D

The next three are "must win" games unless we can upset someone. Hopefully a 5-5 finish will sneak us in.

That was my take on another thread.

Got to get back above .500 in this next 3 game stretch. If we don’t, it ain’t happening. We are probably favored in the next 3 even short handed, certain underdogs in the 4 after that.

The road game at Missouri is one that I don’t see the Gators winning. Auburn barely escaped there with a one point win. Missouri is about like Alabama in that you don’t know how they are gonna perform from one night to the next. They could look great and beat anybody or lose to anybody.

Completely disagree with your post. I guess what Billy Napier is doing is “accepting mediocrity.” The fact that he came from MSU is also irrelevant.

I don’t know what to do with MW but to say all of this about SS is nonsense.

“Wes Chandler was Percy Harvin before Percy Harvin was born.”

That Mizzou game makes me very nervous.
