I know what you mean. I used to get so mad when they lose but now I am surprised when they win. The program has taken a huge step backwards from where Donovan had it.
I just don’t get it….some said good idea to bring App off bench to settle him him down. Last night his 25 minutes were tied for 4th most on the team. Here’s the problem… He’s our only point guard. Gotta play 30-32 minutes. Offense sputters without him. He’s also a solid scoring threat. By not playing him more minutes we are stifling our offense. Best passer, best ball handler, one of most consistent scoring threats, and a good defender. Losing 8-10 points a game by setting him more when you consider all that he brings to the table.
What's SAD is that its not even February yet and Florida is out of the Dance... while both FSU and Miami are in right now....
My daughter had a game yesterday. (She’s a cheerleader). I got home in time to watch the 2nd half. My son decided to watch part of it with me. I told him it wouldn’t surprise me if we got blown out. Then we did. I played on my phone during the game and really just wasn’t that into it. I’ll keep watching, but after only 7 conference games, I just have such little hope for a great season. I guess I’m just really apathetic right now.
What's really sad is every team in the sec points to our game with them as winnable...I miss the days of having a target on your back...that is when you know you are elite.
I have said this here and other places....... Mike White is an 18-13 coach. He will win one unexpectedly then lose to an inferior team(s). He is "consistent" in his inconsistent coaching. He is not a 10-21 coach, nor is he a 24-7 coach. He will always win about 55-60%. He should not be coaching at UF. He should be coaching at usf, jax, s alabama, ga southern, et al of that level.
My SAD story is that I knew we were playing. Had dinner at 7, helped my wife with some things at a neighbor's house, checked the score at half and decided my time would be better suited in watching "Joe Pickett". Good choice.
I hate how we are playing, but no way would I stop watching them or give up on them. Might get upset but will pull and hope they win every game. That's every sport men and woman's.
I have my own sad story. I accessed the game on the app,after being excited about it all day. But I couldn't turn it on until it was 15-12. Then we extended our lead to 19-12, and I said "Here we go! This will be 4 in a row!" But then...we appeared to just sleepwalk the rest of the half. I said that if the Gators are this dis-interested in winning this game, then I'm not interested either. And the wife and I watched "This is Us" on my DVR and I missed the 2nd half. And even THAT was better than watching us stumble around up in Oxford.
What is TRULY sad is the numbers of posters that seemingly have just accepted that this is the ‘néw norm’ for our program and that we might just as well accept it. Foot no!! Time for the AD to do for the BB team what has been done for the grid iron team. Go get a Coach with a vision!! We’ve seen what Whites is in 7 years.
Not sure why White gets another year if the Gators miss the tournament. What else does SS need to see at this point to think anything will change? He should be inspired by Napier to go in a different direction, but this doesn't appear to be the case. I'll still root hard for the Gators to go dancing regardless of how I feel about White, but hard to be optimistic.
Because I still watch them does not mean I accept it. I hate it when they lose and hate it worse when they play like crap. Just won't stop watching and going to games. Thought that is what fans do, get pissed off sure but turn my back no way
Hopefully, Stricklin is doing some looking to see if he can get an upgrade. In my opinion, that's far from a given, and that's hard to say. If we don't load a Brinks truck up full of money, we're not getting much interest from anyone who is a Power 5 winner. And with the priority this university has given this program over the years, I find that possibility remote.
I watch a boatload of basketball games. It’s rare when I watch a game and think that the coach is worse than White, unfortunate as that might be.
I would not say it’s the new norm. But I’ve been watching nearly every game since the M&M days. Even used to listen back when all the games weren’t on TV. Went to nearly every game as a RR when I was in school 98-02. Haven’t watched this year since the Maryland game. I’m done. And frankly I wish people would start boycotting the games to expedite the change we all know needs to happen. I’m a Gator fan to the end and will be all in under a new regime. But just seems like Stricklin has shown no interest in making a coaching change. So if Stricklin uninterested then i am uninterested. I have better things to do.
