Wow. Three players go 0 for 20. Add another in that mix and four were 3 for 34. We're 38% for 2s and 14% for 3s as a team. I can"t even imagine how shooting got so bad.
On nights like this, you are right. However, they will come back and win a big game like on Wednesday and Saturday, and we'll get delusions of a deep run into the NCAA again. This team has no sustainable character right now. They are the most inconsistent team in the SEC.
Then why is he still taking up a scholarship? Convince him to transfer to a mid-major, and bring in another big who is disgruntled at another Power 5 division program. Having the guy sit behind Jones and Kennedy who are doing absolutely nothing to help us to win, is a complete waste of a scholarship.
I used to think that, and perhaps it is his coaching style. Maybe he needs to impose some tough love on these players. There are only a few of them that really come to play every night. I went to the Maryland game in Brooklyn. There is no way we should have lost that game. The same level of inconsistency that existed then, exists now. They are making horrible passes, they have no conviction on their shots (it is like they have no confidence on the release), they get broken down way too much for a "defensive" team, and they are not good at handling adversity. While MW has to bear the responsibility for bringing in players with these qualities, they have lost 7 games 5 of which they should have won. This does seem to happen year in and year out so it is hard to blame the players, but these players just did not play up to their capability last night. That is not on MW. That is on them. That reflects a lack of pride and a lack of appreciation for the school and the program. When you lose to a 1-5 team as badly as we did, it is not on the coach, it is collectively on the players on the team who have gotten used to losing and have accepted losing as part of their DNA. MW has done just enough to keep his head out of the guillotine, but if he does not start putting more pressure on these players and stop babying them, the blade will be lifted soon. Mike White needs to start recruiting players who might not be as athletic or even as talented, but who simply hate to lose. Other than Castleton and Jitoboh, I don't see any other players on this squad who hate to lose.
White needs to take a page from Napier’s recruiting book. The talent level of this team ranks in the bottom half of the SEC and that’s where we will land in the standings.
After tonight I think Florida fans are singing..... I Fell Into A Burning Ring Of Fire I Went Down, Down, Down And The Flames Went Higher And It Burns, Burns, Burns The Ring Of Fire The Ring Of Fire I Fell Into A Burning Ring Of Fire I Went Down, Down, Down And The Flames Went Higher And It Burns, Burns, Burns The Ring Of Fire The Ring Of Fire And It Burns, Burns, Burns The Ring Of Fire The Ring Of Fire
The yellow tags on their jerseys mean nothing. This team should not even be allowed to wear such jerseys. They are a shell of what we used to have here at Florida. All that those players built has been eroded in fewer than 7 years.

We thought we had a team full of long athletic and talented guards but with only one big that could play. Turns out we have a good stable of bigs who can play with long athletic guards who can’t shoot a lick.
We got blown out by a team that was missing two starters, had lost four straight games & six of their last seven. Seven years of this - it's past time to find a new coach.
