Another year, another unbalanced roster, without depth.. Next year, we don’t even have a legit big man yet..
We have had bad offense basically since MW got here. He has no clue how to maximize anything on that end. Vandy came up with the game plan on how to defend us. We won though, so MW changed nothing, and Ole Miss exploited us into an embarrassing blowout loss. It’s the same game he loses every year. The one to finally give us some breathing room, one we should win, one that will further quiet the fan base….and we may an egg.
It is time to face the truth. This program keeps slipping backwards in the SEC. This university should be competetive in every sport, and a contender in the major sports. The basketball program is leaking badly and after seven years it is time to patch the boat. Come on now administration!
I kind of agree with this. Why do we press? How many times do teams get wide open looks? Also I loved the play where we came out of a time out and played 1-3-1 zone and Ole Miss knew it and ran an EASY alley oop play. #sarcasm I’ve been on the fence with MW for awhile but I think it’s time to move on. He was unlucky with KJ getting hurt last year and CC this year, but that’s just the way it’s going to be I guess.
Yeah considering they're one of the worst 3-pt shooting teams in the country, driving to the basket and taking closer shots is probably the way to go. However, I don't get paid $3.5 million to tell them that. lol
Have to imagine Niels Lane has already told CMW that he is transferring or he is in some sort of undisclosed dog house. With Felder and CC out, and Myron Jones giving us nothing, you’d think Lane could’ve spelled someone for 5 mins.
Coming into tonight, these were our SEC team rankings: Points: 9th Rebounds: 10th Blocks: 2nd (thanks Colin) Steals: 4th Assists: 11th Turnovers: 7th A/T Ratio: 9th FG%: 10th FT%: 10th 3P%: 11th I know you're trying to be positive, and I appreciate that, but the problem seems to run much deeper than us having an off night.
Ranking the top 10 conferences in men's college basketball so far this season 1. SEC The SEC has six teams ranked in Kentucky, Arkansas, Tennessee, Florida, Alabama and Auburn. LSU isn’t far behind. Arkansas, Florida and LSU all won tournaments during Feast Week. Kentucky, Alabama and Tennessee will see an uptick in scheduling. And it’s not a reach that Kentucky, Arkansas, Alabama and Florida have the goods to make a Final Four run. The article is from early December 2021, but the point still remains that our conference is VERY good this year! Also, our conference schedule this year was loaded at the top. Let's re-visit this topic at the end of the regular season and see where we stand. Hopefully we'll get some of our injured players back to help.
More like Jitoboh is coming along nicely, and Gatkek is… pretty well over his head at this level. Jitoboh has certainly shown more flashes this year. But he’s still not a guy putting up 20 and 10 or dominating a game. I assume by legit he meant a legit starting SEC starter on a top team. An all-sec player like Castleton. Not to take anything away from Jitoboh’s progress. Of course it’s an upgrade from wondering if he could stay in shape/healthy for more than 5 or 10 minutes. There’s reason to hope he continues improving, but it’s still quite a leap to be a “legit” big if we are talking top tier starter capable of carrying a team. He’s still not really mobile and gets winded pretty quick. His size can be both good and bad for matchups, still probably best in 5 minute spurts.
