It seems like Carol Ross was our women's coach when we were last pretty good, but then Pat Summit was the Lady Vols coach and being good was not good enough.
Love to see them gaining votes... this is probably about right. We do have 5 losses, 2 that probably shouldn't have been, so Top 25 is hard to argue in front of some other teams. Ole Miss just made it and they have a better record and beat us. Top 30 isn't bad at all... but more importantly we are in a great position to make the NCAA this year. That is the biggest thing we need to accomplish. We need around .500 in conference (8-8) to get there, and we are 3 away. We can't take for granted that those 3 wins will happen though. The back half of our schedule is much tougher, but the way the team is playing we should be favored in at least 3 more games. I have always thought .500 in conference, 20 wins, and a tourney bid will get Kelly the job permanently. Didn't think she'd come close after the showing against Towson or starting 0-2 in conference but they have really turned it around and they have a great shot at pulling it off now.
It’s nice to watch a Florida basketball team that seems to execute the game plan and a coach that clearly cares.
Won 3 in a row, all vs ranked teams and our next two games are #1 South Carolina and #4 Tennessee. No rest for the weary.
Yeah, our NET is still pretty bad at #67 mostly due to bad scorelines in non-conference I assume, but our team sheet is looking pretty good compared to other bubble teams at this point. Here is the link, he has us as 11 seed/the last "bye", luckily they have finally expanded the women's field to 68 which improves our chances: Women's Bracketology: Metrics say UConn is a No. 4 seed, but will NCAA selection committee agree?
