Great game. Worried with only a 3 point lead at half and Pippin was out most of first half for Vandy. Played defense like we did in Fort Myers Tip-off. Hope Castleton gets back soon, but him being out might lead to a more well rounded team when he gets back.
Coach said in the interview after the game that they changed the offense coming out of the holiday break to run through CC (we lost three in a row, granted to better teams) but has now changed it to be more like earlier in the year. I wonder if he will switch back when CC comes back.
That's a point well worth looking at. I tend to believe our players become too reliant on feeding the ball to CC and when he went down they had to find new ways to generate points. So far they are doing that but there's still a lot of games to play.
A very enjoyable 2nd half. A combination of good Gator D and a Vandy offensive melt-down. Stackhouse's suit coat was so ugly it should warrant a technical foul.
All in all, it's an SEC win. Great defense all day combined with poor Vandy shooting equals a wide margin of victory. Gatkek and Jitoboh have held their own in CC's absence.
He is a hustler. Didn't have the game he did last time out but still wound up with 7 pts and 8 boards to go along with 2 steals.
In the final minute, I was hoping they were going to feed Jitoboh in order to get his first double-double.
Not sure why you'd say that. Colin is a better defender than either Jitoboh or Gatkek. Better scorer too. Since both those guys are contributing now, I would like to see us give a few minutes to Colin and either of them simultaneously just to see what happens. However, it remains to be seen if Colin can play again.
