Lots of other factors in play here. Miami has a better path to the Playoff than Arkansas. Also easier to recruit pieces to your offense. And then there are the beaches, restaurants, shopping and night life…not to mention big city events and sports.

And yet apparently there is not enough money to move him from hog country to the international capital of all that.

Maybe the wife and three kids got tired of moving every year. Briles’ been in five different places in five years.

Smart move by Briles. Pittman isn't going anywhere anytime soon. The likely scenario is Cristobal will be fired before Pittman retires. Briles could be the coach in waiting at Arky.

    Editing for clarity.

Not sure the best place to post this, so I will cross post it in Awesome Recruiting and Swamp Gas. Mods feel free to delete one if not allowed.

I know everyone's LOVE for Bianchi, but he just has a good interview with Rick Darlington, the legendary Florida HS coach from Apopka (now DeLand).

Coach Darlington said he ran in Coach Napier at that coaches clinic a few weeks ago, and spoke with him. He knew him previously from when Billy was at Bama as WR coach. Coach D loved teh fact that Billy just had on a hoodie and blended in with the other HS coaches. Note both are sons of coaches.

Long story short Coach Darlington asked Billy if he could speak with his son Ty and give him some career advise. That quickly turned into an interview, and now we have an incredible new staffer. Coach Darlington said he never had any expectations of Billy other than to offer his son some advice on the transition from off field assistant to on field coach. Ty had basically been an assistant to the Head Coach (Riley at OU) for the past 5 years. Ty had interviewed for a TE coach at Boise but a former Boise player got the role.

Just further evidence that Billy gets it.

It was Coach Darlington who wanted Napier to talk to his son. Bianchi just recited the conversation between Coach Darlington and Napier. Seems like his son is a great pick up for multiple reasons.
