No coaching at Illinois. He gets less time and looks worse. Tired of hearing it's Whites fault he is just not a good player. Maybe next year he will look better some take time, some never get there.
Is it possible to get to a point where there seems to be a large (perhaps excessively large) number of players who aren't what Coach thought they'd be relative to the amount of players that adequately develop since recruitment? If yes, what would making this determination look like? Go GATORS! ,WESGATORS
When you are one of 6 teams in the nation who has not lost in first Rd of dance last 5 years. The only team from SEC who has went to dance last 4 years just think if he could coach? Needs to recruit better then you will see a better coach. He has outcoached his recruiting Last time promise I will defend Coach people know Iam a fan and everyone has their opinion
You see the problem here, right? To me it doesn't really matter whether you want to blame it on development or recruiting...it's still on Mike White. That's the "fault" that you see so many pointing out. That said, another win tonight and we'll still be on track for 15-3 in the SEC. Go GATORS! ,WESGATORS
I I agree he brings in players that's on him. Got a good class coming in, hope he keeps it up. But you are right.
Perhaps he needs to change the type of players he is recruiting from HS and to stop relying so heavily on the portal to make up for his recruiting misses. HS talent evaluation seems to be below average. The Collin Gillespie types at Villanova that some coaches identify during their evaluation.
Mike White just looks so damn nervous on the sideline. You have to think it negatively affects the team. Anyway at the end of the day we have been a middlin' SEC team under him, so if this is where the athletic dept thinks we belong then just keep him rather than hiring another spare that will just do the same thing.
Omar Payne has had an excellent first half tonight. I know that it’s only against Michigan State, but he is playing well.
Did anyone watch Illinois vs Michigan State last night? With Kofi Cockburn and the Illinois point guard out, Illinois stunned Michigan State. Payne played an outstanding game. Shocking I know, but Omar is learning how to play basketball.
Hope so he's been playing since what 7th grade. I hope he goes to NBA and makes a good living. Just don't blame White as you do. He was not going to play ahead of CC or Dujuli and not JJ now he did right thing by leaving. 1 good game every 8-10 games hard to play more then 10 mins a game that way. Still ex gator so hope he gets much better and becomes a star.
