if that is the case (speculating since we don’t know) Billingsly was still good enough to play like 75% of the snaps this year. Baker had 7 total catches, zero vs the SEC. Not sure why he didn’t get much run but 4 freshmen receivers caught more balls than him.
It's not really speculating when Saban suspended him before the season and said "he's got to buy into the principles and values of the team and be a good teammate". About as clear cut as it can be.
I had high hopes for Gamble when he committed, but he just never came close to what I expected. He put in some work, but it just didn't pay off like I expected, and he was frustrated. He is going to his level and will get more catches at UCF than at UF. Whether that will affect his chances at the next level is unlikely. He got plenty of targets at UF for scouts to see who he is.
I for one always liked Gamble. When Trask was QB, he caught a lot of passes and I was pulling for him this year. Our QB this year wasn’t the best passer we have had, leave it at that. Hate to see he transferred, but he was a good Gator and I wish him well. Might I add, never got in trouble and will help UCF!
He was money a couple of games under Trask, but the bowl game with Trask and the last bowl game were nightmares to forgettable for him. I think consistency is the biggest problem for him, and a receiver who is not dependable is not worth targeting on 3rd down.
With Torrence in the Gators has move in to #15 ( transfers and recruits combined) #2 in transfers in, only behind FSU.
for some reason they are counting as transfers ro Florida Truesdale, who came last year, along with Summerhall and Zanders.
Quezzie quipped, on Twitter, that Johnson wanted that Clemson degree more than one from Northwestern. LOL. Quez throws some wicked shade sometimes...
Former 4* WR Kaemen Marley from North Carolina and was the second highest recruit for Tennessee in 2021, but who didn't play last season has enter the transfer portal.
This was the answer to the questions no one was asking on Twitter. Best of luck to him though I hope he has a big year on a 0-12 team.
He was clutch many times this year. My guess without looking is he was close to being our 2nd best receiver statistically. The drops vs UCF hurt but I wish we had him back for next year. edit: I looked. Shorter had more yards which would put gamble 3rd (unless I look deeper. Not doing it lol). Still, not bad stats from gamble.
I liked Gamble, hate to see him leave. Not sure he will get more catches at UCF next year tho given their QB situation.
