You live in the wrong state. No restrictions in sunny FL.

Well, if my son get Omicron then I’d prefer that over 2 doses of vaccine. Much safer for my family situation.

*sighs* I miss the days when Rising Seas was going to kill us all. I’d almost be willing to swap Fauci for that angry little Swedish girl whose mom claims can see CO2 gases.

But, you don't want him to risk Delta, which is still out there. The vaccines and natural immunity are more effective against Delta, which is more severe.

Dr. McCullough is full of it. Lots of outright lies, misinformation, and previously debunked crap. Pure snake oil. And you like it not because it's the truth, but because you want it to be true.

And the geniuses in your world not only got COVID, but some got it twice.

At lease the cases were mild and everyone in your world recovered.

You just can't see the pain of 800,000 dead or those who were hospitalized and survived or those who suffer.

So you latch onto a fringe doctor who reinforces your own selfish focus.

Your fringe doctor did not cite 1 study or any science in that story.

He just repeated the usual talking point about cases in California.

Only an idiot would follow his advice or opinions.

Just don't tell people that they should be embarrassed for engaging in the critical thinking that evidently escapes you.

    Thanks surfn!

Yeah, I hear that too. He's a good guy who has spent the last two decades caring for my cousin/his daughter who is now bound to a wheelchair from severe ms. My guess is that he probably didn't know what to do about her, though she's got adult children to care for her.

    This is really good news.

I really don't know how to interpret the numbers in the article. Is there anyway to evaluate the comparative effectiveness based on these numbers?

You skipped the whole “if he already has NI” part. If he already has natural immunity I for sure won’t be getting him any of the vaccines at this time. Not that complicated.

So now women's idiosyncrasies aren't allow to be pointed out without being called a misogynist? LOL. Not surprising coming for the people who call "racist" at every turn when they have no real response of merit. And you voted for a guy who's no doubt in the early stages of dementia who has done nothing at all since he's been elected other than implement policies that have helped fuel inflation and alienated half the population. You've got nothing to hang your hat on. ;)

This has been talked about many times. This is exactly what is expected of any vaccine. It’s the only way we get past any virus.
The problem with the vaccines is they are designed of the alpha variant spike protein.
Omicron had 32 mutations just to the spike protein which is why the vaccine is doing virtually nothing against Omicron.

We don’t have enough data on the risks of myocarditis in teens who have NI and then get vaccinated. Does that increase risk of myocarditis? I’m good waiting. My son is good waiting. Thanks for your concern.

I know that I am not the expert, but my understanding is that the answer to your question at the moment is no, since we have not established correlates of protection.

With the endless media focus (and anti-vaxxer counter focus) on the role/duration/effectiveness of neutralizing antibodies, all of the many other layers of the immune response have been pushed to the background. However, all along, many have argued that the B-cells + T-cells were ultimately going to be the most important. However, even if that were proven (which it is not yet), we do not know what levels are poor/good/great.

    What is well done?

see my above post. Knowing that CD8 and CD4 T cells provide long last immunity is well known even before the pandemic.
Too bad Omicron spike protein is way different which is why the vax is doing nothing right now. It was always a concern if another variant had a high mutation on its spike protein.
The ignorance here regarding rather simple microbiology is amazing.

The assertion that the vaccines are doing nothing is false. So stop calling other people ignorant.
