They aren’t as bad as they look because we dropped almost 50k nation wide. We gave billions to hospitals and they cut capacity? Where did the money go?

The now is therapeutics. They are not going to have an effective vaccine for omicron/omicold in time to do anything meaningful. Now going forward hopefully we can get an effective vaccine. That said…the damage done built the idiotic rollout will make it an uphill battle to regain peoples trust in public health when it comes to those new drugs unfortunately.

    Booster up…

Perfect timing on the publishing of this paper that completely flies in the face of your baseless comments that you have been throwing around as though you know something. Turns out, both the Ad.26 and mRNA vaccines are producing extremely robust CD8+ and CD4+ T-cell, which are shown to be highly protective against severe disease from Omicron in the monkey models, and as well as real life studies in human. Thus, vaccinated people getting a cold, unvaccinated dying in ignorance from a variant shown now by 2 groups to NOT be attenuated in virulence, but rather is coming up against a highly immunized population resulting in much better outcomes. Further, not only does the data show that the vaccine platforms have strongly CD8 and CD4+ germination, but as long as 8 months after full vaccination (not boosting) the CD4+ T-cell germination is still increasing.

That said, the damage done by idiotic anti-vaxxers and purely ignorant, killing nearly 2000 people per day still in this country is beyond comprehension. Worse, the fact that people are still delighting in that ignorance, and happily continuing to lead morons to the slaughter is becoming borderline criminal in this country.

Another anecdote as to why your under educated "family doctor" should not be leading your care against a novel disease if they do not keep up with current science, have political motivations or are otherwise simply not good at their jobs.

66 year old woman who was fully vaccinated and boosted showed up at family doctor with cold-like symptoms and sore throat. Doctor gives rapid test and woman tests positive for COVID. Moron doctor gives the woman heavy dose of steroids and anti-biotics (again FOR A VIRUS). Woman's symptoms progress and breathing becomes difficult and ends up in the hospital. Luckily, horrified doctors at hospital immediately stopped steroids and anti-biotics and were able to administer sotrovimab (despite being pretty late in the infection for such a treatment) and woman is now recovering without breathing assistance.

Moral - if you doctor gives you a steroid for a viral infection while you are still in the viral replication phase (you know steroids - THINGS THAT SUPPRESS YOUR IMMUNE SYSTEM) tell doctor to f-off, and go find educated medical help immediately.

Therapeutics? Like monoclonal antibodies? You do know that Omicron has rendered all but one treatment obsolete. And that one treatment is in short supply.

It's the vaccine that's turning Omicron into what you call Omicold. The numbers don't lie. The unvaccinated are much more likely to be hospitalized versus the vaccinated. Nothing else is more effective today.

At this point requiring the booster for young healthy kids and adolescents seems wrong. Even Paul Offit is not recommending the booster in such cases. I did get my 17 hear old son boosted, but he is autistic spectrum, a bit overweight and plus we went to visit my 85+ year old parents.

My son is 16 and a very well conditioned athlete. He has not gotten any of the vaccines as of yet. The only thing at this point I would consider is giving him one shot of the Pfizer vax. But as of now I’ll wait. If Omicron does bring about herd immunity then I won’t get him Vaxxed at all.

Dr. Peter McCullough: Official COVID 'narrative has crumbled' (wnd.com)

Dr. Peter McCullough: Official COVID 'narrative has crumbled'
'The vaccines should be pulled off the market, they clearly are not solving the problem'

    r. Peter McCullough – a renowned cardiologist and highly published medical scientist whose confrontation of the government's COVID-19 policies has drawn more than 40 million views on Joe Rogan's podcast – told WND in a video interview Thursday night the official pandemic narrative that has been fiercely guarded by establishment media and social-media censors is "completely crumbling."

That narrative, he said, included "false statements regarding asymptomatic spread, reliance on lockdown and masks – which obviously didn't work – the suppression of early treatment, the mass promotion of vaccines that failed."

"And now here we are, almost in complete free fall," McCullough said, referring to the record number of COVID-19 cases as officials acknowledge the vaccines don't prevent infection or transmission.

McCullough noted that in California, with the more contagious but much milder omicron variant now dominant, health care workers who tested positive for COVID-19 and had symptoms were told to go back to work.

"With that, I think that's it. I think that's the end. The narrative has crumbled. People don't want these vaccines," McCullough said.

"The vaccines should be pulled off the market. They clearly are not solving the problem."

Well Offit does recommend the basic two vax routine for kids. Your alternative of one shot and wait and see is a reasonable one, the myocarditis incidence for first shot isn't much different than actual covid. From my perspective why subject your kid to the possibility of having an unpleasant bout of covid? At least with one shot you are reducing chances of the worst case scenarios, and not really increasing other risks.

As said above if it were available the child dose as a 2nd shot may be an alternative, if and when it is fully approved.

Personally I'd still vaccinate the kid because the risk of myocarditis is really low, and having the vax is one less thing to worry about. But given where we are I don't feel strongly about it. The argument for the vaccine as a prophylactic to societal infection spread is much less applicable with omicron.

Really not looking like we'll be given a choice eventually, & I don't want another baseball season to be jacked up from this, so this is the main reason tipping me in favor of doing the booster winter break. It's stupid to be honest but...this is NY, & though nothing is official they've been discussing it & obviously changing the definition of fully vaccinated to include having the booster will trickle down to his group soon enough.

There is not going to be herd immunity. Barring mutation to a more severe illness, this will be an endemic upper respiratory infection. Like the other 4 coronaviruses.

Vaccine or convalescent immunity will only hasten that.

We will never have herd immunity due to these false vaccines

Before considering getting my son vaccinated I would do an antibodies test to see if he’s already had Covid. If yes, then for sure I won’t get the vaccine for him. If another bad strain like delta occurs I’ll do that.
