lol I have decided to not get the vaccine because I beat Covid in September 2020. I found no good reason to risk (although extremely rare) adverse reaction to take something developed to teach my body to fight off something I already naturally beat.
If they had developed something against Delta, I likely would had. Plenty of papers stated coming out showing NI did just as well if not better against Delta than the vaccine.

Now we know the vaccine is doing nothing to stop Omicron. I’m also a 37 year old healthy individual who works out at least 3 times a week.

Ya so not taking the vaccine because of all of that is sooo fringe….

I will post a great article in the Atlantic on this idea of being admitted “with” COVID or “because” of COVID after I read through the thread to catch up. But, the idea is that some of the conditions for admittance may have been triggered by the COVID, so one cannot day that COVID did not trigger the admission. It is a false binary choice. In any event, and outside the scope of the article, when there is an admission for another condition, staff and doctors in areas other than infectious disease settings are exposed to COVID. For example, the vascular and heart surgeon I know who had to operate on a COVID positive person and then was infected.

I had 102 from my sending shot. Same with the booster but was a tad less sick.

Florida doesn’t release data daily so you can’t tell. But let’s hope so.

Lots of folks getting it a second tome. And they spread it because it spreads in the pre-symptom stage. So you can laugh at the idea that you are increasing the risk of spreading it to others and increasing your own risk, rather than getting the super immunity that comes from having a prior case and then getting a vaccine series. Better to get sick and stay home than a vaccine. Better to tax the testing system and health care system (even pharmaceuticals) than prevent or mitigate. NI Val’s vaccine is a false binary choice.

Lots of vaccinated are getting it too... Omicron is an escape variant.
    https://www.nejm.org/doi/full/10.1056/NEJMc2119236
"Serum samples from vaccinated persons neutralized the omicron variant to a much lesser extent than any other variant analyzed (alpha, beta, or delta)"

You might call this fring, but you just need a basic understanding of the vaccine. It's designed on just 1 protein of covid-19, the spike protein. Omicron had 32 mutations on its spike protein. That was always the worry. We just got lucky that Omicron also had a mutation that added a common cold type structure to it.

Anyhow read that study. It will show you exactly why NI is generally better.
Picture a chair... the vaccine teaches your body how to detect one of the legs. Someone with NI will know the whole chair.

I have said we need to focus on the next generation of vaccines (ones that actually work and provide a more robust tcell/bcell response).

So not sure what you are ranting about. We also need to keep the focus on therapeutics as this is going to be endemic. Not sure why you got your parties in a wad?

Yes it was the vax. I'm good now, just tired. Realizing how dependent I am on all these meds to function is a tad depressing though. But it is what it is.

I'm set til the actual booster later on. And even better I get to keep my job.

My son one of those stats. Yeah it goes away but shouldn't be discounted & dealt with accordingly. Ie, full rest (no gym, sports, etc) then slowly work back up.

We're going to have to boost him soon so will do it Winter Break. Nothing in session & 3 months before full baseball starts. I'd rather wait & I'm worried but the Pfizer booster is a low dose, and if we wait too long they'll force them & it'd be in baseball.

Wish we lived in FL.(edit to add) -- Oh I'd still get him vaccinated, but I wouldn't have the whole "can't do anything without vax/booster" thing to deal with & we'd have more flexibility when it comes to timing of things. We're lucky with the 2 breaks but if we had trips planned it'd be a disaster with then having to wait & it rolling into the season.

I think what they're trying to point out is there are other factors regarding Covid & it's severity, & how if they're healthy they don't feel their outcome won't be as bad, & therefore don't feel the need to vaccinate. Don't think they're saying the sick & obese deserve to die, etc.

Frankly, to those folks I'd say if you're healthy, there's a high chance you'll barely get a reaction, especially from the lower-dose Pfizer, so no real down side to getting it if worried about side effects & reactions. Rest, lots of fluids - heck take some days off work & binge watch Netflix, & then you're set.

My kid's been told no school & just to play his Xbox for winter break (so around 10 days). He said "I can live with that" LOL

Too many studies posted up thread that run counter or your assessment of one study. The study you cite is a serum test of limited subjects that does not address infection rate or T cell response. A study like that only supports further population studies. And, again, it is not a binary choice. Infection plus vaccine confers a stronger immunity than either isolated. Many studies in that upthread. And, I know how the vaccines work. This study does not asses T cell or N cell response. Only an antibody response. The problem for the binary NI vs Vaccine crowd is that as the virus mutates, the NI doesn’t work as well. Which is why over eons, people have regularly gotten colds. And the conclusion of the authors is Omicron specific vaccines.

Meanwhile, the pandemic is now. Not next generation. So, we need to use what we have now. The next generation will be tweaked for Omicron, but the idea is to get ahead of the next variant by reducing infection or severity risk now.

Many attest to feeling poorly after the vaccine. My surmise is that the “feeling lousy after vaccine” part is merely the body’s response to the trauma that is the vaccine and nothing more. Accordingly, the rapidly waning antibodies are likely the body recovering from the trauma that is the vaccine. And it is the uselessness of the vaccine that explains why people continue to get sick regardless vaccination rates. Overall, the vaccine is a wholly false and potentially harmful solution for an imaginary problem.

True. My ex got Pfizer & he's very healthy. He said he stayed home for a day & was back working out a few days after.
