MAGA has nothing to do with the pub party, hell trump wasn't even a republican until he realized that would be the easiest path to what he wanted. Moderate pubs are road kill in today's maga world, Reagan would be stoned if he magically appeared at trump rally.
We had 14 clown establishment Pub/RINOs... and Trump for the 2016 elections. I chose the one man that could NOT be bought off like all the rest of the political establishment clowns. The one whose principles were not for sale to the highest bidder. Sure he said many silly things and had some moments that were uncouth. But I voted for him because of his actions and what his policies were/are.
MAGA has become filled with the deluded and gullible who are blinded to any fact that stands in the way of their reality.
Not necessarily a bad decision IN 2016. After all, Trump was historically a democratic and there was significant hope that his election-running tirades were just showmanship and pandering. However, four years of his tripe, self-destructing megalomania was good reason to not make that mistake in 2020. But I agree, we need a fresh set of candidates and leaders, on both parties.
You chose Trump because the MAGA types were the easiest political marks ever. You’ll literally believe anything. Trump cannot be bought off? Trump? Donald J. Trump? Griftus Maximus? Cannot be bought? Those must be some powerful drugs… I won’t attempt to explain the thinking that leads to this level of delusion, but I think the public defender for one of the insurrectionists summed up the problem at hand nicely. Nah, he has the best economy... historically low unemployment across all demographics, save the woman during WWII. Energy independence... Space Force... booming economy. And we were ready for the next level of greatness... and the PLANdemic hit... The greatest psyops ever purported on a country. All so the commie, NWO, globalists can takeover the world. I guess these sycophants in Europe and some of the other 'English' speaking countries really did want alien technology. Canada, Australia and New Zealand want it badly. They are willing to enslave their population to get that promised tech... the ultimate prize. How is that for conspiracy theories... I know, I'm an immature at it, unlike the Leftists.
The unemployment rate is dropping again. Just like it did during Obama's first term, carried all the way through the first three years of Trump. If you mean deficit spending when you talk about stronger military, I agree there. Both Reagan and Trump spent on the military and drove up the national debt. Energy independence? Not quite. Especially when we consume 8.5 million barrels or oil a day more than we produce. Respect and Trump around the globe? It was bad before COVID. It plummeted during the pandemic. Low inflation? Inflation is at its highest level since 1982. That includes the Presidencies of (R) Reagan, (R) Bush, (D) Clinton, (R) Bush II, (D) Obama, (R) Trump, and now (D) Biden. Current inflation is largely due to the pandemic disrupting supply chains. Add to it increased demand due to strong economy here domestically, and you have high demand, low supply, which any Econ high school student can tell you will lead to increased prices. Countries with struggling economies, like Greece, are seeing inflation less than 2%. But other countries with strong economies, like Germany, are seeing inflation rates similar to ours. It's a global, supply chain issue that will hopefully correct itself, assuming there isn't another COVID surge like Omicron in the next few months. Two genders: Think the progress of LGBTQ is a bad thing? Or only happened under D Presidents? Or shouldn't happen at all? Law and Order? Homicide rates were actually higher under Reagan than under all Presidents since. Crime rates have followed the same pattern. Been a small uptick in 2021, but still nowhere near the highs we see on the chart below. One major difference between Reagan and Trump? Immigration. Here's a quote from Reagan, "You can go to live in France, but you cannot become a Frenchman. You can go to live in Germany, or Turkey or Japan, but you cannot become a German, a Turk or Japanese. But anyone, from any corner of the Earth, can come to live in America and become an American." It was from Reagan's final address to Congress, and considered a love letter to immigrants. A far cry from, "They are not sending their best..."
Lol... Yeah, I did. I love conspiracies that people waste so much time to invent, pun intended. I imagine most of the policies and SCOTUS appointments would have looked similar whether we got Cruz or a different Republican other than Trump. IMO, for the most part, Trump's actual politics reflect where the party has moved over the years (such as on issues like immigration, which is the issue I think probably got Trump the nomination). Republicans have and will continue to win elections. If anything, I think Trump is more of a liability than asset to the GOP, but that that says more about his character than specific policy positions.
The Political Pandering, Squabbling and Hate Mongering on both sides will lead to the demise of the United States. I like to think that a majority of Americans would like to see a better world. As a student of history, books are filled with example after example - HUNDREDS - of examples of successful cultures turning against themselves and losing everything. From Mesopotamia back in 3500 BC to Today. GREED rips societies apart. And this US culture, from my perspective, rivals any former earthly empire in the greed department. We hate each other now. And rather than promoting cooperative relationships, cooperative Gov't, the modes-operandi is to cut the guts out of the other guy or gal irregardless if ideas or legislation is actually GOOD, OH NO, can't let the other guy do something GOOD, it's better to STOP GOOD than let the other guy get credit. I understand that there is a substantial bit of naivete in the above statement, historically American Political Parties have always been NASTY...........but, the stakes are so much higher now. Just on time deliveries of goods and services to maximize profit IS NOT good for ANYBODY other than those stuffing profits in the bank. A degrading climate and loss of valuable ariable land IS NOT GOOD. Pandemics ARE NOT GOOD. Losing fresh air and water is NOT GOOD As Americans we better get it together because the stakes are huge and our survival is at stake.
This is funny. I used to consider myself a moderate Republican in that I believe in being fiscally conservative and government leaving people alone in their choices. Then we had Reagan start the "deficits don't matter", which every subsequent president but Clinton continued with either irresponsible spending, irresponsible tax cuts, or both. And Republicans began to deny individual rights and freedoms on a broad array of issues. Ultimately though, like many Republicans from all the Bushes, Cheneys, Colin Powell to George Will, I realized that the Republican party leadership had been subsumed by cultish allegiance to Trump. Where Trump can call a guy "Little Marco" and Rubio will continually ask for another paddling. Worse, when an armed group sends 140 police officers to the hospital (including 4 later dying), rampages thru the capital hunting the Vice President and legislators with handcuffs and calling for their murder, all in the name of overturning not just an election, but dozens of judicial rulings, findings from Republican led legislatures, and election officials, then the leadership of that party is lost. My father was a lifelong Republican with the highest security clearances, and he would not piss on Trump if he was on fire. Hates how he has attacked our intelligence community. Probably would have voted for Kasich (as might I) in 2016. I get that you think there are "no more democrats like JFK." You are wrong. I do not think there are "no more Republicans" as I know many - and many of them oppose Trump. It is hard to imagine you are so biased as to think that among the 81M people who voted for Biden there are not many with conservative leanings.
Lol... that's a lot of words, but it's nothing more than pure minutia... I don't care what Trump says to other politicians, and I don't care what he calls greedy selfish RINOs like Marco Rubio. It's all about actions for me, and that is why I will vote for Trump again. Plain and simple, it's about his actions.
I said that the spending might be one place when Trump can make a change in his second term. But I also said, when Obama was still POTUS and he wasted $10 trillion, that we need still need to spend some money when Trump gets in office just to get out of this hole that Obama got us in with concern to the military in particular. Obama tried had to gut our military.
He wasn't like this 5 years ago. A warning to those watching about the dangers of restricting your news diet to only outlets that tell you what you want to hear.
Let's see - you say I use "lots of words but nothing more than minutia." Well, my post included specifics about deficits, inflation, and numbers of police officers attacked at Trumps urgings. You say "It's all about actions for me" and with no further identification of those actions and declare "that is why I will vote for Trump again." So we must assume you support attacking police officers, exhortations to "grab 'em by the &*ssy, tax breaks that expand the deficit, undermining our military alliances, and most damningly support a traitor that over 100 former national security officials (ALL Republican) identified as a threat to our nation. 100 GOP national security officials: Trump transition refusal hurts US. As evidenced by bush/cheney/powell etc most formerly elected republicans of any stature and intelligence despise Trump. Many current elected Republicans will knife him (politically) in a second if they can. They can't b/c Trump has radicalized angry people who view anybody that doesn't support trump as a "commie" or RINO, and has created an alternative universe where the guy who lost the popular vote twice, and the election once, lost every court case, claims to be the winner. And idiots believe him. It is not about anything other than anger expressed as fealty to Trump. "He could shoot someone on 5th ave in NY" and voters would still support him. The actions you support are the traitorous attack on America that I will vote and fight against until the Republican leadership returns to its right mind. It would be like AOC being the President with the Dem wing nuts taking over the party - the Rep wing nuts took over the party. Sorry you ignore and dismiss lifelong REPUBLICAN national security officials that call him a threat to our country. I will not. Edit Wow, just read the diatribe associated with your post."Aliens", "pLandemic" - you live in a different planet. You underestimate your immaturity. It is quite advanced. I truly would like to understand the two or 3 things trump accomplished in office that you believe are significant for America. Facts to support them - ie, if you say "stock market going up" then compare it to the previous president (hint - it went up more than under Obama). If you say "military security" - explain why national security officials (ALL Republican) call Trump a threat to America or give specifics of what he did (like "solving" North Korea, right?)? If you say fiscal responsibility - explain the booming deficit under Trump. Never mind, as you said "I will vote for trump no matter what."
We've explained in several thousand words in several hundred posts what we stand for, and you on the other side still refuse to listen. I am for smaller government. I am for the Constitution and I am for an economy that is first energy free and yet still has very low taxes. I do NOT believe in globalism... New World Order... and I am NOT for world wide socialism. And in the Covid bill that Trump signed is has full disclosure about all UAPs... That is very interesting. I know all about Trumps shortcomings and I do NOT care anymore. As long as our country has a strong military, and strong economy and is energy independent that we will be just fine. That and the historically low unemployment means that we as a country will be better of than jumping into the dependence, the need of other nations like the Leftists want us to function as... I want self reliance the Left wants dependence on other nations thought globalism. That independence is a fundamental difference that Trump was for and that "trumps" any words or antics that he might express form time to time. Actions speak louder than words. And as I said that his words sometimes get muddled, I defer to his actions when I think about his presidency. Nothing will change my mind. I will never vote for a Dem. And I will again vote for Trump.
