Seems like it, but the AD better do his homework this time and know what is needed before interviewing them. He needs to find an up and comer with Billy Napier potential and CEO attitude with a complete plan, and not end up with someone like Mullen where he didn't realize how much he lacked until the 4th year and a contract extension. Actually I now doubt our AD can do this and he might have to hire some agency or something.

If our coach was a jerk, this type of basketball would have gotten him fired a long time ago. Amazes me how the university has allowed our standards of excellence in hoops to erode.

Jones has been a complete bust and our backcourt is borderline awful. They just don’t complement each other at all. It’d be nice if we had someone like Quinerly to go with Castleton, Duruji, Fleming and Felder. Completely different team with a quality PG I think.
Game would have been tied in the second half were it not for the two technical foul free throws. (Fleming).
Yea, but I can also understand the dynamics of coming in after one of the best AD’s in all of college athletics history, and not wanting to step on anyones toes too quickly. Do your fund raising and facilities thing, and let the coaching part play out for a while. White is also a stand up guy, a good ambassador, and last year he received a mulligan due to KJ, Covid, and I bet the above mentioned played into it to some degree. This year, I don’t think he will last of this continues.
My HS coach used to have one guy take one FT at the end of practice. Make it and practice ends. Miss it and the parents wait a while while we run suicides. He said there would be a time where one free throw at the end of a game would decide it and wanted us to know that pressure before it happened.
I haven't seen anything from CMW in his time here to garner any real support. He is obviously in over his head. He pretty much lost me last season and I have watched a handful of games this season but figured once conference play started he'd stink it up again. It is far past time to let him go or end up with empty stands.
The lack of excitement for this game is really sad. #11 team in the country and the crowd looks like a mid-major crowd. Missed free throws were embarrassing. So un-clutch other than CC. Understand pulling Appleby but at least he can hit some free throws and shots. I'd play him at the 2 over McKissic. He should not be the pg. I really want to know if Mike White had a plan with these transfers? Did he scout them, know what they're good at and where this team needs help. If he did, he would know they need a true pg. I think this team looks close to done. Feel bad for CC. No confidence that they're going to win at South Carolina making them 0-4 in the SEC. Is this product acceptable to SS? Really hope he does what's neccessary and gets us a great coach barring a miraculous turnaround.
Appleby was a liability on defense. Days scored at will over him. McKissick was the better option, but he clanked his FTs, as did Duruji and CC and Jones. We're just not willing to pay for a top flight point guard and it is killing us.
The fact that he is a stand up guy and nice is mentioned a lot more on here than how good his coaching skills are. It is time he is held accountable for the product on the court. Not sure what he is an ambassador of anymore either. I don’t think it is a question of “if” this continues, it IS and has been continuing and I don’t see anything in front that gives me hope that this will turnaround.

I’m becoming apathetic toward white which in my mind means things are really bad. I’m tired of getting mad at him because it’s the norm. I’m going to watch the games because I love Florida basketball but I literally have the lowest of expectations going forward so won’t pout when we lose (and we will lose..a lot).
Mike White needs to be relieved of his coaching duties. It’s time. We deserve better. The university does. The alumni. The current students. The city of Gainesville. No one is coming to games anymore and rightfully so. Everyone knows exactly what to expect and what will happen. We need new leadership. I’m a big picture guy. 18-12 and a 11 seed isn’t what I want annually but that is Mike Whites ceiling. I won’t root for the Gators to lose, but I won’t watch nor care if they do. Stricklin is delaying the inevitable, sadly. Mike White must go!
They do not have the ability to shoot FTs . Rarely will they make a shot when open . Dribble drives are a joke because the drunk dribble in the lane amongst 3 defender throwing up some horseshit shot that you would see in a HS Phys Ed class.
Why would the fans ,Alumni, the City of Gainesville deserve better? Are we some kind of basketball Mecca? A no passion fan base who do nothing but bitch. They were on Billy Donavan ass because he couldn’t go far enough in the tournament. This fan base deserves exactly what we are . They will show up for Kentucky on good years . Generally even with BD the Dome was not full . We are a third tier program at best. Our mythical brand our fans give this program is way overrated. The city of Gainesville is as bad a college sports town I’ve ever seen. Think about all of this . Am I really wrong.? Am I missing something? Can someone show me different?
MW has appeared broken for several years. Big job, big stress, outside stressers, who knows. G’ville is still a smaller town with a different student base than it was. Make it easier to go to games and well of course make the games exciting, you know win and maybe no small ball dribble in a circle and launch!
